The hit CBS soap “The Young and the Restless” has been teasing a romance between Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) for weeks. As Victoria and Kyle take things to the next level, Heinle has teased the romance that has fans buzzing for many reasons.
Amelia Heinle Talks Victoria and Kyle’s Romance on ‘The Young and the Restless’
In an interview with TV Insider, Heinle weighed in on her alter ego’s romance with the much younger Abbott heir.
“It’s a real love affair. It’s really, really cool. The age difference and the family dynamic add a juicy layer to it, and it’s just going to get worse and better and all the things all at once,” she expressed.
Heinle spilled that once Kyle and Victoria hit the sheets, the relationship escalates quickly. They keep it a secret for many reasons, such as the ongoing feud between the Newman and Abbott families and the fact that Kyle dated her daughter, Claire (Hayley Erin).
The actress admitted that Victoria feels Claire is over Kyle because she has asked her. Also, Claire has moved on from Kyle with Holden (Nathan Owens), so Victoria finds comfort in that to justify her actions with Kyle. There will be fallout, but it doesn’t stop Victoria and Kyle from heating things up.
“It’s not going to be boring, that’s for sure. I feel like right now with the new writers coming in, it’s a work in progress. I feel like we’re seeing how it goes. They’re fully committed to it, but nothing is set in stone in terms of the story yet,” Heinle said.
The soap star shared that she didn’t see this storyline coming, but she’s having the time of her life playing Victoria in this era. Heinle has so much gratitude to “The Young and the Restless” executive producer, Sally McDonald, for recognizing the chemistry between her and Mealor and not being afraid to use it despite the age gap.
Fans React to Kyle and Victoria Pairing
In the most recent “The Young and the Restless” preview, fans learned that Victoria and Kyle take things from platonic fun to very romantic. Fans wasted no time hitting up the comments to react to this pairing.
“Just ewwwww on Kyle and Victoria! I mean talking about passing it around 😂,” declared a fan. One fan chimed in to say, “I think I speak for most fans when, after seeing what Vicky and Kyle are about to do, I scream: No!!!” “Is there anyone here team kyle and victoria? im just not feelin it. i think the writers were going for shock value because it feels that way to me,” said a fan.
Many fans felt the same way and are not here for the romance. However, the new pairing also got a slew of support.
