Fans Get Their First Look at Boston’s Ultimate ‘Survivor’ Cafe Fan Experience

Calling all Boston “Survivor” fans – CBS has revealed a sneak peek of its first-ever “Survivor” Ultimate Fan Cafe! Set to open its doors to wannabe castaways at on September 23 – just in time for the season premiere of “Survivor 49” – the Ultimate Fan Cafe exeperience will offer patrons the opportunity to try their hand at some of the series’ classic challenges, sample a selection of “Survivor” themed menu items and join in watch parties for the upcoming season. 

While the installment’s initial announcement simply showed longtime “Survivor” host Jeff Probst revealing that the first-of-its-kind fan eatery would be coming to Boston’s The Greatest Bar – which is owned by “Survivor 49” castaway Shannon Fairweather’s parents and formerly employed “Survivor” legend Rob ‘Boston Rob’ Mariano – a new Instagram post shared on Wednesday, September 10 gave fans their first look at the interior of the cafe’s decor, delectable offerings and interactive gameplay opportunities. 


Sneak Peak Shows Island Decor, Beachy Cocktails & More

In a carousel of snaps posted to the @survivorcafe Instagram page, CBS showed off The Greatest Bar’s recent transformation, complete with island backdrops on the walls, plenty of palm fronds and bamboo furniture. The post similarly showed off a snapshot of early visitors to the new location participating in a familiar “Survivor” challenge. 

“Reservations are now live,” read the post’s caption. While fans, particularly outside the greater Boston area, might have a hard time getting their hands on highly sought after tickets, CBS has confirmed that they will be priced starting at $30 per person for a 90-minute reservation. 

According to Probst, the Ultimate “Survivor” Fan Cafe comes after the show’s producers were “inspired to create a real-life destination where fans can come together and celebrate everything they love about ‘Survivor.’”

“The ‘Survivor Ultimate Fan Cafe’ is a celebration of the show and its incredibly passionate fanbase in Boston, which is also home to many popular past castaways and a few players in the upcoming 49th and 50th seasons,” added Mike Benson, President and Chief Marketing Officer at CBS. “Partnering with Bucket Listers for this multifaceted immersive experience delivers on our commitment to create innovating, authentic and fun opportunities for the ‘Survivor’ community – and beyond – especially in the lead-up to the show’s landmark 50th season.”


What’s on the Menu at the Ultimate ‘Survivor’ Fan Cafe?

In addition to the colorful cocktail shown in the Cafe’s recent Instagram post, CBS have confirmed that the menu will similarly include a full selection of Polynesian-fusion inspired and “Survivor”-themed dishes and drinks curated by “MasterChef” finalist Becky Brown. 

A press release from CBS confirmed some of the delicious offerings on the menu will include dishes like a “Sole Survivor Ceviche,” “New Era Laksa Noodles,” “Campfire Carnitas Tacos” and a tempting “Double Elimination Burger.” 

Fans can wash down their meals (and get a bit of a buzz before trying their hand at some classic “Survivor” challenges) by sampling some of the Cafe’s themed-cocktails and shared pitchers, including potables like “Jungle Juice” and “Hidden Immunity Punch.” 

The “Survivor” Ultimate Fan Cafe will celebrate its grand opening on Tuesday, September 23, just one day before the highly anticipated two-hour season premiere of “Survivor 49” on Wednesday, September 24 at 8:00pm ET on CBS.
