Presidential Address Will Interrupt Tonight’s Two-Hour ‘Survivor 50’ Episode

The Merge has finally arrived for the remaining castaways on “Survivor 50” – and sooner than any of us predicted!

With 17 players left vying for the title of “Sole Survivor” and the $1 million grand prize on the milestone season, tonight’s (Apr. 1) special two-hour episode will witness the largest Merge in “Survivor” history, while a never-before-seen “Blood Moon” twist at Tribal Council promises to change the name of the game forever.

Unfortunately, fans will have to wait a little longer than usual to find out exactly how the unprecedented tribal drama plays out as tonight’s episode is set to be briefly interrupted as President Donald Trump takes over the primetime slot to deliver a special address to the nation.

Here’s everything you need to know about how, when and where to watch CBS’s special two-hour “Blood Moon” Merge episode of “Survivor 50,” TONIGHT, Wednesday, April 1.

A statement from CBS released on Tuesday, March 31, revealed that the upcoming episode of “Survivor 50” – set to air from 8:00pm ET to 10:00pm ET – will be interrupted as President Trump delivers a special address to the nation this evening.

“CBS News will air a Special Report for President Donald J. Trump’s live primetime address to the nation from the White House, Wednesday, April 1, at 9pm ET. ‘CBS Evening News’ anchor Tony Dokoupil will anchor the coverage,” read the network’s announcement.

When Will ‘Survivor 50’ Be Back On?

The special two-hour installment of “Survivor 50” will hit CBS screens nationwide at 8:00pm ET and “will resume where it left off immediately following the president’s address for Eastern and Central Time Zone viewers on the CBS Television Network and air in its entirety,” the network explained.

At present, the President’s address is set to begin at 9:00pm ET and last for 20 minutes, meaning that the second half of tonight’s “Blood Moon” Merge episode will continue to air from 9:20pm ET to 10:20pm ET.

Where to Watch Tonight’s ‘Survivor 50’ Merge Episode

Tonight’s episode of “Survivor 50” will air — as always — on CBS. Unlike other episodes, however, this evening’s Merge special will last for two whole hours compared to the series’ typical 90-minute format.

The President’s address will interrupt the episode halfway through, projected to run from 9:00-9:20pm ET, with the episode picking up where it left off after the address has closed.

Fans can similarly stream new episodes of “Survivor 50” — the day after they air on CBS — on Paramount+.

What to Know About ‘Survivor’s All-New ‘Blood Moon’ Twist

While the highly-anticipated Merge is a milestone for any given season of “Survivor,” it appears that this season’s will be the most dramatic yet as CBS teases the never-before-seen “Blood Moon” twist.

We don’t yet know the exact details of how the twist will play out, though CBS has promised that, “after tonight, the entire ‘Survivor’ game will never be the same again.”

Speculation from fans predicts that the twist will involve the series’ first-ever triple elimination

Fans believe that the remaining 17 castaways will be split into three groups of five — with the remaining 2 players being sent to Exile Island. Within their individual groups, castaways will compete for Immunity from the dreaded “Blood Moon” Tribal Council, which fans think could actually be three separate votes before the true Merge begins.

Until tonight, the secrets of the dramatic game-changing twist will remain a secret. Be sure to tune into a brand new two-hour episode of “Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans,” TONIGHT, Wednesday, April 1 at 8:00pm ET on CBS.
