At the Santa Barbara event, Markle wore a navy blue Carolina Herrera halter dress valued at $2,490. She paired the look with gold jewelry, including Princess Diana’s Cartier Tank Française watch, now worth more than $23,000, according to Page Six.
Princess Diana often wore the elegant timepiece in the late 1990s, including during a visit to London’s Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Hindu Temple in 1997. After her death, Prince Harry gifted the watch to Markle, who has worn it on meaningful occasions, including a 2021 portrait for “Time100 Talks.”
“I had it engraved on the back, ‘To M.M. From M.M.,’ and I plan to give it to my daughter one day,” Markle once told Hello! about her own two-toned Cartier version, showing her fondness for sentimental jewelry.
Markle completed her look with tan Ralph Lauren heels and a raffia top-handle bag by Hunting Season, embodying what many called California cool.
