Former ‘Voice’ Coach Joins New Film With Star-Studded Cast

Camila Cabello is trading her mic for a movie set once again. The singer and former coach on “The Voice” has officially joined Jonah Hill’s upcoming comedy “Cut Off,” alongside Kristen Wiig, Langston Kerman, Nathan Lane, and Bette Midler.

Directed by Hill and co-written with Ezra Woods, the film follows two wealthy siblings who suddenly find themselves cut off from their parents’ fortune, and the chaos that ensues.

Cabello’s Role in ‘Cut Off’

As far as Cabello’s role in “Cut Off,” Rolling Stone said it’s unclear at this time. The two wealthy siblings will be played by Hill and Wiig, with the movie being scheduled to premiere in theaters on July 17, 2026.

The movie is being shot in California and is being co-produced by Hill, Matt Dines, and Ali Goodwin for Strong Bay.

Cabello’s Other Movie Credits

This isn’t the first movie role for the former coach on “The Voice.” Cabello has starred as Cinderella in Kay Cannon’s “Cinderella” movie.

She has also appeared in Chiwetel Ejiofor’s “Rob Peace.” In that movie, she played Naya Vazquez, Rob’s college girlfriend. Cabello has also voiced one of the trolls in “Trolls Band Together.”

In October 2024, Cabello covered the Who classic “Behind Blue Eyes” for the video game “Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred.” At that time, she talked with Rolling Stone about acting, saying she loved “almost acting when I’m singing.”

She has also maintained her presence in music. This movie announcement came about a year after she released the “Magic City Edition” of her album, “C, XOXO.” Cabello also joined Adam Port, Stryv, and Malachiii on a viral remix of “Move” in 2024.

Camila recently made a bride’s day even better. A chance fan encounter at a bar led to the “Havana” singer showing up at the bride’s wedding and singing her father-daughter dance song live.

On Friday, September 19, Cabello met and talked with Kelli Murray, the bride, and her family at a hotel bar in Iowa, according to the TikTok video her cousin posted. During the conversation, the bride told Cabello that she planned to use her song, “First Man,” for her father-daughter dance at her wedding the next day.

What does Camila do? Well, she offers to come to the wedding and sing it live.

And Camila followed through, as the video shows her in a long black slip dress, holding a microphone, and telling the story to the crowd. She said, “‘First Man’ is a very special song to me. It’s a song that I wrote about my dad and about, you know, the moment that I get married.”
