John Legend and Chrissy Teigen brought plenty of glamor to the 2026 American Music Awards, along with one unexpected red carpet hiccup. While posing for photos in Las Vegas, Teigen suffered a small wardrobe malfunction when her heel snagged her beaded gown, sending beads spilling onto the carpet. But “The Voice” coach quickly jumped in to help his wife untangle the dress, creating a sweet moment that fans are already swooning over.
Wardrobe Malfunction Gone Bad
The couple attended the annual awards show in Las Vegas on Monday. Teigen was looking glamorous in a floor-length beaded orange gown. She paired the beautiful dress with gold heels, which she can be seen clearly struggling with in the above video.
During their time on the blue carpet, the pair posed for many photos. However, during their time on that blue carpet, Teigen’s heel caught on the hem of her dress. It forced her to pause before moving on.
GettyThat is when Legend bent down to help her untangle the dress. That is also when a woman stepped in to help the model, as well.
It was too late, though, as the damage was already done. A few of the beads fell off the delicate gown. They spilled onto the carpet.

He also turned some heads on that blue carpet. “The Voice” coach wore a tan trench coat and matching high-waist trousers.
A Happy & Healthy Marriage
Legend and Teigen have been married since September 2013. The couple is known for their playful marriage.
Teigen posted on her Instagram Stories on Monday, saying she wanted to see “Magic Mike Live” while she was in Vegas.
In the post, Chrissy is shown lying in bed and laughing. She asked her husband, “After you’re done performing, should we just, like, go to ‘Magic Mike’ or something?”
In another post, Teigen went on to ask the “All of Me” singer if he got the run of the show yet. Then she murmured to the camera, “So we could go see ‘Magic Mike.’”
A secret to keeping their 12-year marriage going strong? Teigen, 40, told E! News, “For all he knows, I have never farted or pooped.”
Yes, you read that right! She went on to say, “You got to keep the sexy and preserve the sexy in a little bit of ways. I won’t say that John necessarily does that all the time, but I make sure that I do.”
That sense of humor is what wins John over daily. During an appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast in March 2023, he called Teigen’s sense of humor her “hottest quality.”
Legend said, “It’s probably obvious, but she makes me laugh all of the time, and I think that just changes your whole world when you have somebody around you that makes you laugh. Even when you go through the worst things … when [your partner] has a sense of humor, it just makes life better, it really does.”
