One year after winning “The Voice” season 26, Sofronio Vasquez can’t quite believe his good fortune. The first Filipino to win the singing competition, Vasquez has traveled the world, performed for dignitaries, and recorded with music legends, including his coach, Michael Bublé.
On November 22, 2025, Vasquez announced via social media that he and Bublé will soon release a new single together. They’ve reimagined Bublé’s 2024 holiday tune “Maybe This Christmas,” which he originally sang with country artist Carly Pearce.
Expresing his gratitude for the opportunity, Vasquez captioned a photo of the vinyl record, “When you’re new, you pray for someone to give you a chance. @michaelbuble didn’t just give me a shot, he gave me his time, his wisdom, and his voice. I’m still in disbelief.”
Christmas Tune From Michael Bublé & Sonfronio Vasquez Will Be Sung in English & Tagalog
According to Vasquez’s post, the new version of “Maybe This Christmas” will be available on November 28, but can be pre-saved now. A small snippet of their tune was featured in the online clip.
Bublé thrilled fans when he commented, “And I can’t wait for them to hear the Tagalog lyrics !!!!!! 🇵🇭❤️🎄”
According to Cornell University, Tagalog is one of the most widely spoken languages in the Philippines. When Vasquez earned a four-chair turn during his Blind Audition, which aired in September 2024, Bublé convinced the Filipino-born singer to join his team by sharing how important Vasquez’s native country is to him.
Bublé told him, “I want to start by saying salamat (thank you), because the relationship I’ve had with the Philippines for so many years makes me love you even more. Your people are such a beautiful people. I can’t even imagine how proud you’re gonna make them.”
“There is something so inherently beautiful about music for you,” Bublé continued. “Dude, I’m emotional. I’m trying to swallow because I’m emotional. I want this relationship. It’s gonna get past whatever happens in this competition. I think you’re gonna help me win this competition.”
Sofronio Vasquez Will Also Release a Christmas Tune With David Foster
In addition to his collaboration with Bublé, Vasquez will also release a new rendition of “Grown Up Christmas List” accompanied by legendary producer and pianist David Foster, he shared via social media on November 24.
Vasquez wrote, “Yes, its on our LIST this Holidays!@michaelbuble made this collaboration possible. What an opportunity and gift it is to be working with the multi Grammy Award winner and hitmaker. 🎁🎄🎁”
Foster is a composer and producer with 16 Grammys for his work with megastars from Celine Dion to Josh Groban. After legendary crooner Paul Anka discovered Bublé when he was performing at a wedding in Canada, he got Foster to collaborate on Bublé’s first album in 2007, which debuted at number one on Billboard’s Hot 200 chart.
Sofronio Vasquez Recorded With Music Legends in August
In August, Vasquez and Bublé posted pics of themselves in a recording studio with Foster and Anka.
Bublé captioned his post, “@paulankaofficial and @davidfoster took me under their wings at the very start of my journey and it obviously changed my life. They believed in me when nobody knew my name. Now, together, we get to do the same for @sofroniovasquez. This is what music is about. Legacy, Love and Lifting each other up. I can’t wait for you all to hear it.”
“Maybe This Christmas” and “My Grown Up Christmas List” will both be available to stream and download on November 28.
