Jason Duggar Speaks Out, Asks for Prayers for Joseph Duggar’s Children

Since news broke about the situation involving Joseph Duggar, several of the TLC star’s siblings have spoken out. One of the latest responses has come from his 25-year-old brother, Jason Duggar.

Jason is the 12th of Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Duggar’s 19 children. He was just 8 years old when his family started filming “19 Kids and Counting,” which originally started out as “17 Kids and Counting.”

While Jason may be one of the younger Duggar siblings, he’s not one to shy away from making his feelings known. In a joint statement with his wife, Jason took a bold stance amid the Joseph Duggar situation. See what the couple had to say.

Jason Duggar Shares His Thoughts on Brother Joseph Duggar

Jason Duggar took to social media to share his thoughts regarding his brother, Joseph Duggar. In a joint Instagram post with his wife, Maddie, the couple took a firm stance.

They began their statement by writing, “We, like many, have spent the week completely shocked, confused, and grieved to list a few emotions. We are disgusted to hear the news about my brother, however, this isn’t about how it’s impacted our lives.”

The couple also expressed their heartbreak over the impact on the most vulnerable in the situation, emphasizing their desire for justice above all else. They wrote, “We are angered by what has happened, and we pray God’s righteous hand and the court system will serve justice in the situation as deserved.”

Jason went on to note, “Maddie and I have always had a special place in our hearts for the vulnerable around us, and we will continue to do so.”

The younger Duggar closed out his statement by calling on fans to pray for Joseph Duggar’s children, writing, “We also ask that you pray for his family at this time, as his children must face the reality of losing a father that should have been a spiritual leader in their lives. We stand with innocent children. Always.”

Jason Duggar Got Married in 2024

Jason Duggar married his wife, Madison Jones, in October 2024. The couple tied the knot at The Estate at Sweetwater Creek in Newport, Tennessee. Jason was 24, and Maddie was 20 when they exchanged vows.

Jason’s courtship was somewhat unconventional by Duggar standards. The Duggar son actually met his wife by accident. Maddie, who was already following Jason, had liked one of his Instagram posts. When Jason opened his phone to check his notifications, he accidentally clicked on Maddie’s profile. The former TLC star admits that he liked what he saw and decided to follow her back.

The pair soon started exchanging messages on the app, and the rest is history. Jason soft-launched his relationship with Maddie on Instagram in May 2024. The next month, Jason hard-launched his relationship, revealing Maddie as his girlfriend on his Instagram Story. Jason officially popped the question in August 2024, while the couple was in Florida.

Another unconventional element of this Duggar courtship is that Maddie was not homeschooled like the Duggar children and most of their spouses. Jason’s wife also can’t relate to coming from a big family, as she only has one brother.

Despite these differences, Maddie has integrated seemingly well into the Duggar family. In fact, a number of the Duggar siblings were part of the bridal party at Jason and Maddie’s wedding.

Jason chose his older brother, Jed Duggar, to serve as his best man. In addition, Jason had three of his other brothers: James Duggar, Justin Duggar, and Jackson Duggar serve as groomsmen.

Maddie also asked four of Jason’s sisters: Johannah Duggar, Jennifer Duggar, Jordyn Duggar, and Josie Duggar to be her bridesmaids.

Jason and Maddie Are Waiting to Have Children

In a departure from typical Duggar family norms, Jason and Maddie have also shared with fans that they won’t be rushing into having kids.

The couple shared that information in August 2025 on “The Jinger and Jeremy Podcast,” hosted by Jason’s older sister, Jinger Duggar Vuolo, and her husband, Jeremy Vuolo.

At the time, Maddie discussed still being in school and wanting to finish her college degree before becoming a mother. However, with her graduation ceremony expected to take place in May 2026, it may not be long before the couple begins adding to Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s ever-growing list of grandchildren.

However, the couple has shared on their own YouTube channel, “Jase & Maddie Duggar,” that they don’t plan to have the same number of children as Jason’s parents or even some of his siblings.

While not wanting to have their own large family, Jason still made sure to acknowledge that he appreciated growing up with so many brothers and sisters.

The former TLC star shared, “I loved having 18 siblings. It’s wonderful being in a big family. I do love that my parents, I think their calling really was having all 19 kids. I really do believe that. But for us, we also want to enjoy every stage that the Lord has us in.”

Amid the ongoing situation, Jason and Maddie have made their stance clear, putting their focus on the children at the center of it all.
