The 51-year-old shared her thoughts on what truly makes a person beautiful with age. She admitted that she celebrates getting older gracefully, realizing that each day is a gift.

During a question-and-answer session with fans at a taping of “The Drew Barrymore Show,” the actress and talk show host had an interesting take on aging. She was asked in a clip shared via Instagram, “What is your secret to aging gracefully and being so comfortable in your own skin?” Her honest response was right on point.
“Oh my God, thank you,” Barrymore said. “I want to try and stay that way.”
She continued, “But I am also, like, ‘do whatever works for you.’ I know this woman who went through so much stuff in her life, and she just did something that made her feel so good about herself.”
“It changed her whole perspective. The only thing I do know is, don’t judge other people because they do things differently.”
Barrymore concluded, “We’re all on our own path, and we all have to support each other. I see a lot of turkey neck, or I have moments when [I look in the mirror] and I’m like, ‘oh wow, we’re there now.'” She also noted that each day we get to age is a gift.

“I don’t really have a tip necessarily, rather than I want to tell myself not to be so mean to myself. That person looking back at us is us. The kinder, more patient, resilient, loving we can be, the better it is for our mental game.”
The ’90s star added, “A smile is better than any lipstick you’ll buy. Stop a dialogue that isn’t eviscerating and so quick to catch a flaw. That might be someone else’s favorite thing about you. How ironic. It isn’t how you look, its how you feel.”
