Joshua Jackson charmed fans while playing Pacey Witter on “Dawson’s Creek,” and the same can be said for Katie Holmes, who appeared on the beloved show as Joey Potter. Now, the pair have reunited for a new project and, as E! News notes, “Joey and Pacey’s bond is forever.”
Getty“Indeed, while it’s been 30 years since [Jackson and Holmes] played the teenage love birds on Dawson’s Creek,” per E!, “it was like no time passed when they reconnected for her upcoming movie Happy Hours.”
Jackson Says He & Holmes ‘Still Have Chemistry’
“There are these people in your life — she’s a lifelong friend now — and for us to be able to go back and do this again, and, honestly, for her to be able to create that space for us was kind of magical,” Jackson said on the “Today” show on Tuesday, March 10.
“More than anything, for me, selfishly, it was an opportunity to get to work with Kate again,” Jackson added. “We spent so much intense time at a particular moment in our lives and then we have maintained our friendship for all of these years, but we’ve never had a chance to be on camera together, and it was magic. It was so nice to go back into that place. And, you know, you never know until you’re actually doing the thing, but to still have chemistry with somebody after all of those years is nice.”
The film was written by, directed by and stars Holmes; and Jackson explained, “Katie wrote this beautiful story for the two of us that is the three phases of a love story. So we shot the fun part, which is the falling in love, and she’s cutting it together now. And that will come out and hopefully it will give us the opportunity to go back and make the other two.”
Holmes Also Spoke About Working with Jackson Again
On July 21, 2025, Holmes took to Instagram to post about the project while specifically mentioning Jackson.
“I am so very grateful to be working again with so many of my wonderful friends on this film HAPPY HOURS,” she wrote. “And working with Josh after so many years is a testament to friendship. HAPPY HOURS is a love story that includes so many people I adore. We can’t wait for everyone to see what we make.”
Holmes’ followers were more than a little thrilled by the news.
Fellow star and “Dawson’s Creek” alum Busy Philipps left a comment, saying, “we are seated.👏👏👏”
“Dawson’s Creek” creator Kevin Williamson wrote, “This makes me so happy!!!”
