Iconic 90s actress Julia Stiles celebrated her 45th birthday this year. While best known for her roles in “10 Things I Hate About You” and “Save the Last Dance,” she has dozens of credits across film, television, and even the stage.
But after decades in the entertainment industry, there is one very important self-care element Julia Stiles wishes she paid better attention to in her youth.
Julia Stiles Wishes She Would’ve Taken Better Care of Her Skin
In an Instagram reel, Julia Stiles invited her fans to get ready with her. Fans appreciated her witty commentary, but the actress also strongly cautioned followers to take better care of their skin.
“Note to my 20-year-old self: Always wear sunscreen. Why didn’t you wear sunscreen? Why? Why were you sitting in the sun at peak hours of the day for so long?” the “Save the Last Dance” star asked herself in the video.
“There’s this funny window of time when you’re in your 30s, I should say me, when I was in my 30s, where I was like, ‘Oh my god, the acne’s gone, my skin is so clear.’ And then, two seconds later, boom! Here come the wrinkles,” Julia Stiles continued.
However, the 45-year-old isn’t afraid of getting older. During her most recent birthday, she joked about being “halfway to 90” on Instagram. In fact, Julia Stiles thinks everyone should be grateful for their wrinkles.
“But that’s okay. We should be lucky to grow old and have wrinkles,” the actress added.
The Actress Eyes a Role on “Dancing With the Stars”
Like many other names in the entertainment world, Julia Stiles is a huge “Dancing With the Stars” fan. She wouldn’t mind competing on the show herself someday, but under one condition: they would need to bring the show to her.
“I’ll go down YouTube rabbit holes of watching old videos, and I have my favorite choreographers,” Julia Stiles told PEOPLE in 2025. “We’ve talked about me doing it, but I live in New York City, so it would be hard. Maybe they could do an East Coast version.”
Although it likely would never permanently move out of Los Angeles, DWTS has made accommodations for stars in the past. Season 32 competitor Jamie Lynn Spears shot many rehearsal scenes in Tennessee so she could be near her daughters.
If Julia Stiles truly wants to compete on “Dancing With the Stars” season 35, production can surely find a way to make it possible.
DWTS season 35 premieres on ABC this fall.
