Peter Krause joined Ryan Murphy’s “9-1-1” as Captain Bobby Nash in 2018 during its first season on Fox. Unfortunately for fans, he famously exited the still-in-production series in April 2025 during the show’s eighth season. Now, he’s set for a brand new show, NBC’s “Line of Fire.”
In addition to Krause, “Line of Fire” will star Hope Davis, Kat Cunning, Tommy O’Brien, Taylor Bloom, and Charlie Barnett. The series will premiere on September 21, following “The Voice.”
Peter Krause Opens Up About ‘Line of Fire’ Following ‘9-1-1’ Exit
GettyKrause spoke to E! News about his television return via “Line of Fire” in August 2026. The actor first spoke about the change of scenery the new show brought, with “9-1-1” filming on the West Coast, whereas he’s calling New York City home as he films the upcoming NBC series.
According to him, “It’s been fun to be back in New York. I went to NYU years ago, so it’s a nice time for me to be in a different location.” Regarding “Line of Fire,” it features Krause portraying Mike Hollingsworth, who serves as the head of a family of law enforcement agents who get tangled up in a deadly case.
He said of the series, “I love the cliffhanger elements of the show as well as all the family issues and the surprising comedy involved.”
When asked how the new role compares to some of his prior portrayals, Krause stated, “I am still discovering some things about Mike Hollingsworth as the scripts come in, but there’s a little bit of Adam Braverman in there. He’s a secret service agent, so he’s also got kind of a hard edge as well.”
The ‘9-1-1’ Alum Previously Broke His Silence On His Character’s Fate
Getty“9-1-1” fans were shocked that Krause’s character was killed off the show during its eighth season, with his final scene airing in April 2025. That same month, the now-60-year-old actor broke his silence in a “Good Morning America” interview.
He first said, “It would come as no surprise to the viewing audience that Bobby chooses to save Chimney and stoically contains himself in the lab. He was willing to sacrifice himself so that others could see another day. And I will miss everybody dearly.”
Making the conversation personal, Krause then said, “This was my workplace, for eight years, eight seasons. And I am really going to miss everybody: Angela and the fire team and the crew.” After that, he stated that Angela Bassett, who played his wife on the series, is one of the people he will miss the most.
According to him, “I won’t have a relationship like that again on TV. It’s been a fantastic eight years. I’m going to miss her a lot.
Regarding the future of Fox’s “9-1-1,” according to TVLine, its 10th season premieres on October 15 at 8/7 Central. The cast will include Bassett, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Oliver Stark, Kenneth Choi, Aisha Hinds, Ryan Guzman, and Gavin McHugh.
