Bunnie Xo Reveals She’s Found ‘Silver Lining’ in Divorce From Jelly Roll

With her divorce from country music superstar Jelly Roll now finalized, Bunnie Xo is reflecting on her new life as a single woman.

Appearing on NBC’s “Today,” the host of her popular “Dumb Blonde” podcast opened up about how she’s moved on since the end of her 10-year marriage to the “Save Me” singer.

Moving On From ‘Beautifully Tragic’ Split

While speaking with hosts Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones, Bunnie (whose real name is Alisa DeFord) revealed that she was no in a good place — a very good place.

“I know when something like that that’s deeply personal happens, it’s a beautifully tragic, but at the same time there’s always a silver lining, there’s always something better to look forward to,” she explained.

“There’s so much more to talk about with me especially, and with women, than their past lovers and people in their lives,” she continued.

She Still Wants a Baby

After their split, Bunnie shared that she’d been undergoing IVF treatments in the hopes that she and Jelly Roll would have a baby — and that she was planning to continue that journey even after their divorce.

During her “Today” appearance, she maintained that she still wanted to have a baby, but didn’t clarify whether she still planned on doing it with her ex.

“So I definitely still want to have a baby, and that’s going to be one of my newest chapters of my next book, and I can’t wait for you guys to read about it because it’s been one hell of a journey, let me tell you,” she said.

Living La Vida Single

Meanwhile, Bunnie also discussed how she’s been embracing her new single status.

“Ladies, they should’ve never let me back out in the streets because I love it here, and I’m never going back,” she declared.

“I feel like us as women, we put ourselves aside so much for partners or friends, kids, and it’s like we don’t pour into ourselves, and sometimes you need to be selfish and you need to pour into yourself,” she continued.

“And I just hope my journey can show people, ‘Hey, you know what, no matter how hard the situation you’re going through, you’re going get through that, you’re going to rise up, and you’re going to be an even better version of yourself,” she added.

‘The Freaking Time of My Life’

Not only has she moved on after her divorce, she’s embracing life like never before.

“I’m having the freaking time of my life,” she said.

“I’m just thriving,” she added. “I never thought it would turn out to be such a blessing, but it’s such a blessing, and I’m so thankful.”

Since becoming single, she admitted she’s not suffering from lack of attention, describing her DMs as “a freakin’ smorgasbord” of both men and women.

“It’s so much fun in there, I don’t even know who to reply to,” she said. “It’s a lot. I love reading everbody’s DMs. Some of these pickup lines are amazing.”

At the end of the day, she’s hoping her own experience can help others who’ve gone through the never-pleasant experience of divorce.

“I’m not anybody’s role model, but if there’s something I can do that can encourage and inspire anybody along the way, then I hope that they get to take bits and pieces of my mistakes and my journey and apply it to their life,” she said.
