Jelly Roll Reveals Broken Collarbone After Crash

Jelly Roll is opening up about a painful accident that left him with a broken collarbone.

Jelly Roll Opens Up About the Injury

The first-ever “Artist in Residence” for Season 23 of “American Idol” took to Instagram on Sunday, March 1, to share that he recently flipped his four-wheeler — and the crash resulted in a serious injury.

During the video from outside of his home, he shared a series of photos, including an image of the vehicle after the wreck and an X-ray of his collarbone, as he walked fans through what happened.

“Y’all, just took this thing out for the first time… since I flipped it,” he began, explaining that the ride marked his first time back on the four-wheeler since the accident.

He then confirmed, “I broke my collar bone,” while showing the medical scan.

Admitting he was nervous to ride again, he shared, “I was so scared to get back on this thing. I just knew that if I didn’t get back on it sooner or later I was just going to be more and more afraid of it.”

Ultimately, he decided facing that fear head-on was the best move.

Thankfully, the vehicle itself didn’t appear to suffer permanent damage.

“I tell you what though man, my brother got it fixed. He killed it,” Jelly Roll said, praising the repair work.

He added that he was shocked by how good the four-wheeler looked afterward, admitting he had assumed it was totaled.

He Had the Injury at the Grammy Awards

The injury came at a particularly high-profile moment in his career.

Jelly Roll revealed that he was already dealing with the broken collarbone when he attended — and won — at the Grammy Awards.

Despite smiling on the red carpet, he said the pain was intense behind the scenes.

“Every time I hugged someone that week, I wanted to scream,” he admitted. “Every time someone squeezed me dude I thought I was going to cry.”

Reflecting on the crash, Jelly Roll emphasized that it wasn’t the machine’s fault.

“Sometimes the machine can do more than the user thinks it can,” he explained, clarifying that the wreck was “all because of user error.”

Fans quickly flooded the comments with support.

Bear Bailey, a contestant from Netflix’s “Star Search,” wrote, “Happy you’re better, does sound like fun though.” Another follower commented, “Ouch. Glad you’re feeling better.”

His wife, Bunny XO, also chimed in with a candid reaction: “Worst day of my life lol.”

Many fans applauded the singer for getting back on the four-wheeler despite the frightening accident.

“You did the right thing by getting back in and driving it,” one supporter wrote.

For Jelly Roll, the experience was painful — but also a reminder about resilience, accountability and not letting fear take over.
