Jennifer Lopez is setting the record straight about her relationship with “Office Romance “costar Brett Goldstein.
The singer, actress and former “American Idol” judge appeared on the Today show on Tuesday, June 2 alongside Goldstein to promote their upcoming Netflix romantic comedy.
The Two Confirm Their Is No Romance
But it didn’t take long for the conversation to turn toward the romance rumors that have followed the pair for months.
Host Savannah Guthrie brought up the speculation, noting that fans have been wondering whether the stars’ onscreen chemistry has spilled over into real life.
Lopez, 56, quickly laughed off the rumors.
“There’s never a time when I’m seen with somebody or working with somebody where they don’t try to put me with the person,” Lopez replied.
Goldstein jumped in with a joke of his own.
“I think if you stand near her, that’s what happens,” the actor quipped. “That’s why I’ve been standing so close this whole time.”
The exchange drew laughs from everyone on set, but Guthrie wasn’t ready to move on.
“Okay, but I’ll just say, because I’m me and you know me. That was not an answer,” she told Lopez.
The actress disagreed.
“That was not an answer? It was an answer!” Lopez responded. “Because all these people that they put me, I think I was with Kevin Costner this year. I was with … there was a lot of people. It happens all the time. Doesn’t make it true.”
Still looking for a more direct response, Guthrie followed up with another question.
“Okay, so you’re not dating in real life?”
“Not dating,” Lopez said.
“Correct,” Goldstein added.
The lighthearted conversation continued throughout the interview.
Later, Guthrie jokingly admitted she became distracted after misplacing her interview notes.
When Lopez teased that she had become “flustered,” Guthrie agreed.
“I did, I got flustered. It’s you, Jennifer!”
Lopez immediately fired back with another playful remark.
“You tried to fluster us, and we flustered you!”
“And I became flustered. It’s not fair!” Guthrie replied.
Rumors Swirled As They Did Press
The interview comes after months of speculation surrounding Lopez and Goldstein, fueled largely by the glowing compliments they have exchanged while promoting “Office Romance.”
At the film’s recent premiere, Goldstein made headlines when he was asked to rate Lopez’s kissing skills after filming romantic scenes together.
“The best,” the “Ted Lasso” star said.
Reports from the event noted that he even rated her a “12 out of 10,” leaving Lopez laughing at the praise.
Goldstein has also spoken openly about how much he admired Lopez long before they worked together.
In previous interviews, he revealed that he was already a fan of her movies and music and even helped develop “Office Romance” with Lopez in mind for the lead role.
Meanwhile, Lopez previously made headlines during an October 2025 appearance on “Watch What Happens Live,” where she named Goldstein as the best onscreen kisser she had worked with.
That compliment clearly stuck with him.
When asked about Lopez’s praise at the premiere, Goldstein admitted, “It felt better than winning an Emmy.”
While the pair may have undeniable chemistry and enjoy teasing one another during interviews, Lopez and Goldstein appear united on one point: despite the rumors, they insist their relationship remains strictly professional.
