Kelly Clarkson knows how to turn an unexpected moment into a punchline.
The former “Voice” judge experienced a wardrobe mishap during her Studio Sessions residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on Saturday, Aug. 8, when a gust of wind blew up her sheer top and briefly revealed the black lace bra she was wearing underneath.
Videos from the performance shared on social media captured Clarkson chatting with the audience between songs when the unexpected moment happened.
Clarkson Handled It Like a Pro
“There’s a lot of amazing things happening,” she said before noticing what had happened. “Uh oh, there’s my boobs.”
Rather than letting the mishap derail the show, Clarkson immediately joked about it with the crowd.
“They’re too small, they won’t come out. You’re fine,” she quipped.
She continued, “They’re perfect, but I mean, they’re just not going anywhere.”
The “American Idol” winner was wearing the sheer cropped button-down over her black bra, paired with black satin pants.
She wore her hair in loose curls down her back as she performed for the Las Vegas audience.
Clarkson also connected the moment to the significance of the date.
Her Aug. 8 performance coincided with what is commonly referred to as the Lion’s Gate Portal, an astrological event associated with the alignment of the Sun in Leo, Earth and Sirius.
“I’m gonna be honest with you, somebody was like, ‘It’s the Lion’s Gate Portal. It’s 8-8, there’s so much energy out, don’t speak negatively,’” Clarkson told the audience.
She then recalled making a self-deprecating comment before quickly changing course.
“Right when I made a self-deprecating joke, I’m like, ‘Just kidding, universe, my boobs are awesome!’” she said.
Fans Couldn’t Get Enough
Fans who saw the moment online loved Clarkson’s ability to laugh it off.

The wardrobe mishap was far from the only funny moment Clarkson has shared during her residency.
During another performance, the singer opened up about a parenting rule she follows after a fan offered her a drink from the audience.
Clarkson politely declined, explaining that she had promised her daughter, River, that she would not accept drinks from people she doesn’t know.
“And I also promised my daughter, [who] knows better than me, to not take drinks from people that you don’t know,” she said.
Clarkson then clarified with a laugh that she was the one who originally taught River that lesson.
The candid moments have given fans another glimpse at Clarkson’s personality beyond her music, as she continues her Las Vegas residency while balancing her career and life as a mom.
And if one thing is clear, Clarkson isn’t letting an unexpected wardrobe malfunction stop her from having a good time onstage.
