Iconic rocker Steven Tyler, 77, has parted ways with his girlfriend Aimee Preston, according to new reports. On Friday, December 19, TMZ reported the Aerosmith star has called things off with his longtime girlfriend, 38-year-old Aimee Preston.
The outlet says the split was confirmed to them by sources with direct knowledge, but it’s unknown when the breakup happened or what caused it.
The couple’s history dates back to 2012, when Tyler, who judged “American Idol” from 2011 to 2012 alongside Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson, hired Preston as his personal assistant. The pair went public with their romance on the red carpet at the 2016 Oscars, although the report says they started dating each other two years earlier.

Who Has Steven Tyler Dated?
US Weekly’s rundown of Tyler’s romantic history says the musician dated Bebe Buell in the mid ’70s while Aerosmith was becoming established. Buell became pregnant with Tyler daughter, actress Liv Tyler, shortly after their breakup, per the report. It also points out that Liv revealed in a 2025 episode of Kate and Oliver Hudson’s podcast, “Sibling Revelry,” that she did not find out Tyler was her father until she was “8 or 9.”
Liv described how she felt after attending one of her father’s concerts for the first time, saying, “We went home and my mom had a chaise lounge in front of a window. I remember sitting there for what felt like three days, but it was probably three hours, and coming to this conclusion of, ‘Whoa, I have two dads and all this love.”
Tyler welcomed his second child, a daughter named Mia, with Cyrinda Foxe. Tyler married Foxe in 1978 and Mia was born in December of that year. The couple divorced in 1987.
Teresa Barrick was Tyler’s next wife. The pair were married from 1988 to 2006, and share two children, Chelsea and Taj.
From 2006 to 2013, Tyler dated model and TV host Erin Brady. His last public relationship after that was with Preston.
