Andy Cohen Reveals Why His New Neighbors Are Thanking Him

Andy Cohen revealed that his neighbors are thanking him after he complained about a bright hotel light was shining at night.

The Bravo host spoke out on “Live With Kelly and Mark” on Sept. 15, where he revealed that the luxury hotel chain listened to his suggestion, which scored him kudos from other tenants in the building.

Cohen recently moved from his longtime NYC “dream home” to a luxury penthouse nearby.

Andy Cohen Talked About His New Home & Why He Spoke Out

During his appearance on his longtime pals Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos’ talk show, Cohen dished on his new residence, revealing it was two blocks from his old place. “Same neighborhood,” he said.

But he noted his view was very different, thanks to a hotel just across the river in Hoboken, New Jersey.

Noting that his new pad had a “great outdoor space,” he added, “I have a note for the W Hoboken. Cohen explained that “there is a big W on top of it,” which was “blindingly bright.”

“So, I have been on a campaign via my Instagram stories to get them to dim it a wee bit,” he said. “You know what? They listened! It has been softer. This is public advocacy at work.”

“I did get a [note],” he added. “They were like, ‘We are dimming it.’ And guess what? My neighbors are thanking me in the building. They’re like, ‘Thank you!’ It worked!”

Andy Cohen Previously Revealed That He ‘Implored’ the Hotel to Dim the Light

Fans who follow Cohen on social media already knew about the lighting issue.

According to BravoTV.com, the “Watch What Happens Live”  host complained in an Instagram Reel that the hotel’s “W” light from across the river was “blazingly bright” at night. Cohen added that he “implored the folks, our friends,” at the hotel to dim the light.

“Dim the light for those of us in Manhattan who look at it,” he said,  before adding that he could see a difference since posting his complaint. “I would argue that it’s more pleasing, which makes me think that the folks at the W are listening,” Cohen shared.

The W powers-that-be did listen. In an Instagram post, the chain noted, “Bravo Andy noticed our glow and he’s not wrong, the lights are strong.”

The hotel then asked followers for input. “We like to think of it as setting the stage for Hoboken’s skyline…what color should we shine next?” the post asked.
