Andy Cohen Addresses RHOBH Conspiracy After Awkward Lisa Kudrow Moment

Andy Cohen offered up some insight after fans—and, seemingly, Lisa Kudrow—accused “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” of faking a scene during the cast’s recent trip to Italy.

On the Wednesday, May 13 episode of SiriusXM’s “Andy Cohen Live,” Cohen himself responded to those who felt that a situation that unfolded overseas was “completely fake.” This after Kudrow appeared to confront him about it during her May 12 appearance on “Watch What Happens Live.”

The “Fake” RHOBH Scene In Question

One episode of Season 15 showed Dorit Kemsley, Kyle Richards, and Erika Jayne arguing after taking a sprinter van from where they were staying to a nearby town.

After the three got into it, Dorit retreated to the van, took off her mic, and asked to be taken back to their villa. That left Kyle and Erika “stranded,” something they brought up as a point of contention throughout the rest of the season and subsequent reunion.

However, eagle-eyed fans noticed a second sprinter van at the scene, and was the same vehicle that eventually picked up Erika and Kyle. This led some viewers on social media to say that the whole incident was “completely fake.”

During an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live” this week, guest Kudrow appeared to side with the conspiracy theory.

“I saw the ‘Beverly Hills’ episode, you don’t want me to discuss it,” she said when asked whether she was still watching Housewives. “I am telling you right now. I am just going to say Black Mercedes sprinter twins. I caught that, I’m sorry.”

The interview moment quickly went viral, with Entertainment Weekly and Page Six both calling it “awkward.”

Andy Cohen Responds

On his SiriusXM radio show, Cohen attempted to explain what actually happened.

“It blew up that people were saying she was calling me out on fakery on the show,” Cohen said to co-host John Hill.

“So basically it was when Dorit, Erika and Kyle were in that little town and they had that huge fight and Dorit said, ‘Screw you,’ and got in the Mercedes van and left and what Lisa was pointing out was there was another Mercedes van there, so they weren’t stranded,” he then explained to Hill.

Cohen said he reached out to the RHOBH show-runner, asking, “What’s the deal?”

“Because Erika and Kyle were very, I mean, I remember hearing from, from production, like, whoa, Dorit stranded them in town,” he continued.

According to Andy, the second van was actually a crew vehicle, which was “taking the crew somewhere else.” By the time Kyle and Erika called the house to ask for a ride back, that second van had already left to drop off the crew.

That second van, he said, then returned to get Erika and Kyle.

“So Erika and Kyle walking on the street waiting for the van that was real, and they were standing there waiting for the van for some time,” he added. “I don’t know how long the ride was, but the van had to go to the location and then back to get them.”

To Andy, the story is “not even that interesting,” as he concluded, “I’m sorry to bore you guys, but this is what happened.”
