Bozoma Saint John, a cast member of Bravo’s hit series “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” has honestly opened up about her fertility journey. The reality television star has recently spoken about her desire to have a child with partner Keely Watson and what this means in terms of fertility treatment and her own health.
Bozoma Saint John Explains Her Decision to Try for a Baby
Over the last few months, John has been very open about the fact that she is trying to fall pregnant with her fiancé. Speaking on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” and in various other interviews, the reality star has given some insight into her decisions and what it means for her going forward.
In a recent season 15 episode of the reality show, John explained her motivations for having fertility treatment. “Keely and I have been talking about babies almost since the first date,” she revealed. “Neither of us have a lot of time to waste so if we want a baby we gotta do it now.”
She continued, “We’ve been talking about it in theory and now it’s like, I’m taking medication, I’m getting poked and prodded, I’m going under anesthesia. Like, I’ve got all of the things that is required in order to retrieve eggs and get an embryo….I want a chance at a happy pregnancy.”
“I want him to experience having a pregnant wife and lay his head on a pregnant belly and feel the baby move. Like, those are such important, exciting moments, but also for me. We’ve got some more hard decisions to make. But going to the doctor and moving forward, some of it is just pure will. We’re gonna do this next step and then we’re gonna take another step. Cause if I think about the whole thing altogether, ooh lord, it’s too overwhelming.”
During an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,” John revealed that she has been sharing much of her journey with “Married to Medicine” cast Quad Webb as they both traveled to Ghana for egg retrieval procedures.
“I love Quad,” she said to Andy Cohen. “We were just in Ghana together, and we definitely commiserated. She’s come to Ghana with me before.”
Bozoma Saint John Talks About Being Vulnerable
At the end of January, John and Watson also shared an Instagram post that included several videos and photographs of the pair and their fertility journey so far. Accompanying the images, which includes John injecting herself with fertility drugs, she wrote about how open and vulnerable she feels discussing the experience in public.
“This is one of the most vulnerable chapters of my life that I’ve ever chosen to share publicly,” she wrote “Opening up about the intimate realities of our IVF journey on ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ has invited judgment… voices saying I’m too old, unrealistic, or foolish to hope again because of my pregnancy history.
She added, “Those words can sting. But what has outweighed them (by far) has been the love. The messages from women and families across the world who have walked this road. From those still walking it. From those who simply believe in hope and are holding us in prayer. In every response, whether critical or kind, we move forward anchored in this truth: God has us, and we have each other. And that is everything.”
She concluded, “Our deepest, most heartfelt gratitude to [my doctor] and her extraordinary team. Their care has gone far beyond medicine. It has been marked by precision, compassion, dignity, and an unwavering belief in what is possible. In moments filled with uncertainty and vulnerability, they showed up with excellence and humanity… holding both the science and our hearts with the utmost care. We are profoundly thankful.”
