Craig Conover dropped a bombshell about his ex-girlfriend Paige DeSorbo on the Jan. 7 episode of “Southern Charm.” During the annual gentlemen’s dinner at Patricia Alstchul’s house, Conover admitted he would take the former “Summer House” star back if she wanted to get back together with him.
“I was in a three-year relationship, had bought a ring, thought we were going to get married, and she left, so…,” Conover said in the episode that was filmed more than six months after his split from DeSorbo. “But I wish we could go back,” he added. “Like, I can’t lie to you and not say that I wouldn’t take her back. … It takes a while for your heart to catch up to your brain.”
Conover and DeSorbo split in late 2024 but didn’t immediately announce the news to fans.
Salley Carson & Charley Manley Reacted to Craig Conover’s Comment About Paige DeSorbo
Conover had been flirty with co-stars Salley Carson and Charles Manley while filming “Southern Charm” in mid-2025. The two women both appeared on “Watch What Happens Live” just after the gentlemen’s dinner episode aired on Bravo. When host Andy Cohen asked, “Were we surprised to hear Craig admit at Patricia’s dinner that he would take Paige back?” Carson immediately responded, “Yes.”
Manley was a little less surprised. She told Cohen, “I mean, we definitely bonded over our past relationships. So, it wasn’t like that out of like out of the world.”
Craig Conover Admitted He Cried to ChatGPT About Paige
GettyIn another “Southern Charm” scene, Conover held out his phone and told newcomer Whitner Slagsvol that he cried to ChatGPT about his relationship with DeSorbo. Elsewhere in the episode, he said he’s been seeing a therapist.
On WWHL, guest Jenny McCarthy said the fact that Conover cried to Chat GPT is a “red flag.” “By the way, you can get advice from it, but when you’re having an emotional relationship with your phone, that’s what I call a red flag,” the “Masked Singer” panelist said.
“When he said that he saw his therapist, that’s ChatGPT,” Carson chimed in.
Conover has been open about how he uses ChatGPT—and a real therapist.
Speaking on “The Toast” podcast in June, he revealed, “ChatGPT has gotten me to a place [where I feel better]. It remembers everything about you, and I also talked to it throughout my relationship. It knows my love language. I used to ask it for advice for everything, and so it’s helped me through this breakup.”
“I don’t think you break up with someone you want to be with, so it was never, like, ‘How do I fix this or get back?’ It’s like, How do I not lose my purity? How do I not lose my softness [and] how do I keep hope that love isn’t pointless?’” Conover explained. “You put so much into something, and then they just leave. And I wanted to know that I wasn’t crazy by thinking that was OK [for wanting those things].”
“I’m not giving advice to anyone, but for me it works,” the “Southern Charm” star added. “It keeps this profile on you. I just liked it.”

We all love Craig. The red flag only means he’s not over his X. So anyone who comes along now is too soon.
