Almost 10 years after the original “Ladies of London” aired its last episode, the reboot, “Ladies of London: The New Reign,” is set to premiere on March 5 on Bravo.
The show features an all-new cast, including Lady Emma Thynn, who is a British royal. Here are five fast facts you’ll want to know about the posh aristocrat.
1. Emma Thynn Is the First Black Marchioness of Britain
Emma married into British royalty and held the title of Viscountess from 2013 to 2020, until her husband, Ceawlin Thynn, ascended to the Marquess of Bath after his father passed away.
With a Nigerian father and an English mother, Emma became the Black woman to hold the title of Viscountess and Marchioness, making history among the British royalty.
It’s been a positive thing just to show that, you know, hopefully race doesn’t need to determine who you are, what you’re like, or where you need to be. Of course, it should be irrelevant,” she told ABC in 2013.
2. Emma Married Her Husband in 2013
Emma married Ceawlin in 2013 at his family estate in Wiltshire, with 350 people in attendance, per Hello! The reality star wore a custom satin Angelina Colarusso gown with sheer lace sleeves and a sweetheart neckline.
The two shared their first dance to Beyoncé’s “Love on Top,” which Emma revealed to Hello! that they had danced to during their engagement.
“I’m happy that it went so well and I couldn’t have wished for a lovelier ceremony,” Emma gushed.
3: Emma & Ceawlin Share 2 Kids
Emma and Ceawlin welcomed their first son, John, in October 2014, and their second son, Henry, two years later via surrogacy after suffering a serious condition that affected her pituitary glands during her first pregnancy.
“It’s a hard topic to talk about. I’ll cry my makeup off. But the more honest you are, the more people open up in return,” she told the Daily Mail (via Express).
She continued, “So many people struggle to have children, and it’s not unusual to go down a slightly different path if you need to. I am so grateful for my boys. They’re my entire life.”
4. Emma Has Been on Television Before
Emma isn’t new to reality television. The “Ladies of London” star competed in “Strictly Come Dancing” in 2019 with her partner, Aljaž Škorjanec, and the pair was eliminated in week 7.
She then competed in the British quiz show, “Pointless” in 2021, where she was eliminated in the first episode.
The royal had high hopes for making it in the entertainment world early on in her career, telling Express, “It was tough. I auditioned for everything. It was daily, relentless. Independent films, chewing gum commercials, television shows. I got called back for Game Of Thrones, and they nearly cast me, but if that had happened, I wouldn’t be here now.”
5. Emma’s Inner Circle Includes Celebrities
Aside from other royals, Emma surrounds herself with big-name celebrities, with Serena and Venus Williams being among her close friends.
The two pals get together for charity events, like the Baby2Baby gala in November 2025, and have even gone on vacation together.
