Kyle Richards is opening up about where things stand with her estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky. The “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star recently shared an update on their separation, confirming that while they remain apart, their situation is still evolving.
Richards and Umansky, who were married for 27 years, announced their separation in October 2023. Now, the Bravo star says the current arrangement will not last forever.
Kyle Richards Shares Update on Mauricio Umansky Separation
During an appearance on the “The Bossticks” podcast, Richards confirmed that she and Umansky are still separated but have not formally filed for divorce.
“Well, we’re not legally separated,” Richards said. “But we don’t live together. We haven’t done any paperwork.”
Richards explained that the couple is handling their situation privately and at their own pace. “I mean, everyone does it their own way, everyone does it differently,” she said. “Then hopefully you can do it amicably and not hurt your children.”
She added that their current dynamic is not permanent. “And I say so far because obviously we’re not going to stay in this gray area.”
Richards also emphasized that the relationship still includes mutual respect. “Listen, I mean, you don’t love someone that long and have that kind of relationship with them and [then it] just disappears,” she said.
“You know, we built this beautiful life together, this beautiful family. I have a lot of respect and a lot of love for him and vice versa,” Richards continued. “So there’s no reason to fight.”
She noted that discussions about the future have increased. “We will not always stay in this gray area… there have been more talks about that as of recently… but, you know, like, TBD.”
RHOBH OG Teases Drama on ‘Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip’
In the same interview, Richards also discussed filming for the upcoming season of “The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip.”
Richards said she was surprised by the intensity of the cast dynamics.
“We would stop at these different cities, and we’d meet other… housewives,” she explained. “And I saw some like big blowout fights.”
She added, “I was like, ‘These people are hardcore.’ We are monks in Beverly Hills, guys.”
Richards also shared her reaction to meeting the cast of “The Real Housewives of Rhode Island.” “That was another situation,” she said. “I literally felt like Mother Teresa sitting in [that] room. The personalities [are] flying… I was just like, ‘Oh my God.’”
The upcoming season features a lineup of Bravo stars, including Vicki Gunvalson, Luann de Lesseps, Porsha Williams, Teresa Giudice, Gizelle Bryant, and Lisa Barlow.
“The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” airs Thursdays at 8/7c on Bravo and streams on Peacock the following day.
