Kyle Richards revealed that she has not moved out of her home, more than two years after her separation from Mauricio Umansky—and she has no plans to any time soon.
On Oct. 6, “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” posted a video to her Instagram stories as she walked the grounds of her Encino, CA, estate. She then shut down a nagging rumor about her living situation.
“So, a number of people have reached out to me saying they’ve heard that I sold my house and that I moved. And that is just not true,” Richards said. “I’m still here, and my house is actually not for sale.
The Bravo TV alum then questioned who comes up with such stories. “I always wonder where these stories come from,” she said. “But no, I did sell my house.”
Kyle Richards Previously Said She Has Too Many Dogs to Move
In 2018, Richards and her husband paid $8.25 million for the seven-bedroom, eight-bathroom Encino property once owned by Motown legend Smokey Robinson, according to Trulia.
But ever since her split from Umansky and his move to a West Hollywood condo, fans have wondered if Richards will move as well.
“As of now, I’m staying in this home, because this house is kind of irreplaceable,” she fans on an Amazon Live in April 2024. “And I have a lot of dogs. I don’t even know where I could go with this many dogs, honestly.”
Richards’ two youngest daughters, Sophia, 23, and Portia,17, also still live at home with her.
Kyle Richards Has Talked About Moving Out of the LA Area When Portia Goes to College
GettyRichards was born in Hollywood and has spent her whole life in the Los Angeles area, but even before her split from Umansky, she talked about someday moving to another state. In a May 2022 interview, she told Bravo TV.com she would love to someday move to Aspen, where she has a vacation home, but noted she would still keep the Encino house.
“Even if I move one day to, like Aspen, Colorado, I’ll keep [our Encino home] for my kids or something,” she said at the time.
In the RHOBH season 13 episode titled “A Celebration of Life,” she seemed even closer to moving to a quieter area. The episode was filmed just a few months before she and Umansky announced their separation.
“I will always have a love for Los Angeles, but I just don’t feel as connected to it as I used to,” Richards said in the RHOBH episode. “The things that make me happy are being outside, running by the river, hiking with my dog. One day, when Portia’s done with school, I’m gonna choose some place to live that is more conducive to what brings me happiness,” she said.
Fans will see more of Richards and her amazing house when “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” returns to Bravo for Season 15.
