Denise Richards‘ daughter, Lola Sheen, is remembering Patrick Muldoon with a deeply heartfelt tribute, honoring the lasting place he held in her life following his sudden passing at 57.

Muldoon died on April 19 after a heart attack, as confirmed by Deadline. In a message shared on social media, Lola reflected on the quiet but meaningful role he played over the years, describing him as a steady, comforting presence throughout her childhood, someone whose presence was a constant in their family’s everyday life.

‘Such a Huge Part of Our Family,’ She Writes

“I thought you were the one that was supposed be in our lives forever,” she wrote. “When I think of my childhood, I think of you, Pat, and it’s gonna be so weird to go on without you in our lives.”

Lola described Muldoon as someone who brought lightness and energy into everyday moments, leaving behind memories that continue to resonate.

“He was such a huge part of our family,” she shared, adding that “life will never feel the same” without him.

“Thank you for showing everyone around you how to be alive,” she continued. “You were the definition of what it means to have fun.”

A Bond That Extended Beyond Friendship

Lola also reflected on the close bond between Muldoon and her mother, Denise, describing it as something deeply meaningful and rare.

“I will really miss hearing my mom laugh on the phone with you. Your voice always brightened my day and i’m gonna miss hearing it but i know my mom will more, but we will never stop talking about you.”

She shared that his presence brought a sense of comfort and lightness to those around him.

“Thank you for being the best friend to her. thank you for being the one to make her laugh and forget about all she’s going through. that was a gift you had.”

Reflecting on what that connection meant to her, she added, “When i think of my mom i think of you. you guys came as a package and i’m so thankful i got to know you and witness a friendship so pure and special in front of my eyes.”

Lola concluded her message with words that captured both her grief and her appreciation for the role Muldoon played in her life.

“You really were a rockstar pat, and forever will be.”

“Have fun up there i know you will. love you.”

Muldoon and Richards’ Bond Spanned Decades On and Off Screen

Muldoon and Richards first met in acting class when she was 19, and he was 21, the beginning of a connection that would grow into both a romance and a lasting friendship.

They later shared the screen in the 1997 film “Starship Troopers,” where they played Zander Barcalow and Carmen Ibanez, a project that would go on to become a cult favorite.

Over the years, their bond continued to evolve beyond their early work together. Muldoon made appearances on Richards’ reality series “Denise Richards & Her Wild Things,” and the two also reunited professionally for the music video of his single “Gray Again.”

During that time, Richards shared that they affectionately called each other “Schweet babe,” a nickname that originated on the set of “Starship Troopers” and stayed with them over time.

Looking back on how their relationship began, Muldoon once said, “I got enough courage to ask her out on a date,” adding, “You intimate everybody, you’re so hot.”

According to a People report, Richards also spoke openly about their early dynamic, saying, “We were friends with benefits,” before adding, “And then on Starship Troopers we started dating, and then we became boyfriend and girlfriend.”

Even as the years passed, their connection remained strong. In a March 2025 social media post, Richards referred to him as one of her “besties,” reflecting their friendship.

Muldoon is survived by his partner, Miriam Rothbart, as well as his parents, sister, extended family, and loved ones, according to Variety.
