Fans got a glimpse of Shep Rose’s new Sullivan’s Island home in Charleston, South Carolina, on the last season of “Southern Charm.” The 5,000-square-foot home, featuring 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, was purchased by the Bravo star for $3.25 million in June 2025, with Rose sharing at the time that Sullivan’s Island was one of his “favorite places in the world.”
However, his new home is looking a lot different today. In a new Instagram video, Rose gives a brief house tour, and it’s not what fans expected at all. In the clip, the reality TV star revealed that his historic home has been completely gutted to the studs as he shares how he’s bringing the house back to life with major upgrades.

GettyWhen Shep Rose isn’t filming for the upcoming season of “Southern Charm,” he’s busy on Sullivan’s Island, where his new $3 million historic home is being completely transformed.
In an August Instagram post, Rose shares a behind-the-scenes look at what has been happening at his home, which he purchased in June 2025. Fans were shocked to see that the entire home has been completely stripped down so that just the wood framing and structural posts could be seen.
“Here at the house, it’s coming along,” Rose shares. The Bravo star then pans the camera around the entire first floor, revealing that the home has been completely gutted down to the framing. As he walks through the space, Rose points out the guest bedroom on his left, noting that he made the room bigger. He also shows off the future “main bedroom,” which will feature its own closet and bathroom.
“Exciting progress,” he adds.
Rose first gave fans a glimpse into his new Sullivan’s Island home in March, when he opened his front door to reveal a completely furnished space. In his video, he thanked a local business for helping him make the house into a home and his co-star Rodrigo Reyes for helping him style it.
Why Rose Purchased His Sullivan’s Island Home
GettySpeaking to Realtor.com after purchasing his Sullivan’s Island home, Rose said that it was time for an “upgrade” after living at his beach bungalow in Isle of Palms, which fans remember well in “Southern Charm.”
Rose told the outlet that buying the house was part of leaving his hard-partying lifestyle behind and embracing a more grown-up chapter of his life. “That’s part of the move, honestly,” says Rose. “I adore my old house on Isle of Palms. I had so much fun there, but it is almost like it’s time to upgrade.”
He continued, “It’s time to get a little bit nicer stuff because when you do that, when you invest in a home, investing in nice furniture, all this stuff, it incentivizes you to be a grown-up and to treat things better and be more mindful.”
Rose’s decision to move to Sullivan Islands was also based on his love for the beach and being outdoors. Showing a video to his mom of the home, she immediately knew it was meant for him. “My mom said when I sent her the pictures and videos of walking through [this] house, she’s like, “That’s you. That’s where you should be.” It’s very laid-back, sort of old-school beachy, not pretentious. I love it.” In fact, his “Southern Charm” co-star Whitney Sudler-Smith and Craig Conover also believed it was the perfect fit.
However, Rose has not gotten rid of his Isle of Palms home. Instead, the Bravo star has converted it into a rental property and will also use it as his new home gets renovated.
