Dara Levitan shared some behind-the-scenes about the “Summer House.”
The Bravo TV newcomer, who joined the cast of their reality show during the summer of 2025, appeared on the Dear Media podcast, “We Met at Acme”, where she told host Lindsay Metselaar that the network doesn’t pay for anything except the rent at the Hamptons house the group shares each summer.
“We are cooking, cleaning, shopping off our own dime,” Levitan revealed. “It is a shared house. Like, we’re doing all that stuff by ourselves with ourselves. If someone forgets to order groceries, there’s no food in the house.”
The 10th season of “Summer House’ stars Levitan, Amanda Batula, Kyle Cooke, Lindsay Hubbard, Ciara Miller, Carl Radke, Jesse Solomon, West Wilson, Mia Calabrese, KJ Dillard, Levi Sebree, Bailey Taylor, and Ben Waddell.
Dara Levitan Revealed the Cast Cleans Up After Those Parties
BravoThe “Summer House” cast is known for throwing ragers, especially their annual Fourth of July bash. But they don’t have a production crew cleaning up after them.
On the podcast, Levitan confirmed, “There is no secret cleaning lady coming. It’s whoever wakes up and puts the ‘I’ve got it’ hat on… it’s not secretly more plush than you guys would assume.”
“It’s a mess unlike anything I’ve ever seen,” she added of the aftermath of the parties. “Something about the parties and the people coming in and out, and then you get drunk and then you end up going out immediately after, but then you’re starving. It’s just mess piling on top of mess.”
The ‘Summer House’ OGs Said They ‘Do It All’
BravoThere have been 10 summers documented in the “Summer House,” and Cooke has been there for all of them so far. In 2024, he told People magazine that there’s a lot of organizing off-camera before the cast members make the trek from New York City to their beachy abode every weekend.
“I feel like people think the food magically pops up, the parties magically throw themselves, and people magically show up,” the Loverboy founder said. “We do it all.”
Cooke’s now-estranged wife Batula added that she was long in charge of ordering the food for Hamptons house.
“Every week I would do an inventory of what was in the pantry, and I would make note of anything we needed more of,” she told the outlet. “I started buying groceries for the house, maybe in season 2. I was doing it for years, and I felt unappreciated, so I gave up, and then Ciara swooped right in and took over.”
Batula also noted that the cast members set up all of the elaborate party decor seen at their bashes, while Radke chimed in to reveal that the large group keeps track of what everyone owes toward the house expenses by using “Excel spreadsheets, group texts [and] payment apps.”
