The US Open is in full swing, with plenty of celebrities flocking to the stands in New York City to watch all the action. But while star-studded sightings are nothing new at the tournament, Bravo fans were in for a surprise when one unexpected celebrity pairing caught their attention.
According to a video clip shared by Deuxmoi, “Southern Charm” star Venita Aspen and Marvel actor Anthony Mackie were seen hanging out together in the stands on Saturday, September 5, Day 7 of the 2026 US Open. While neither star has confirmed a romance, their unexpected outing was enough to get fans talking, with some already rooting for the reality TV star and MCU actor to become a couple.
Venita Aspen & Anthony Mackie Are an Unexpected Duo at the US Open
GettyBravo fans are doing a double take after gossip Instagram account DeuxMoi shared a video of “Southern Charm” star Venita Aspen and “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” actor Anthony Mackie hanging out at the US Open.
In the brief clip, fans can see Aspen and Mackie standing together, with Aspen appearing to tell the Marvel actor something funny before playfully nudging his arm. The two could be seen smiling and laughing together, seemingly enjoying each other’s company.
Aspen embraced the tennis theme in a white pleated activewear dress, while Mackie kept it classic in a white button-down shirt paired with dark pants.
In the comment section, fans were ready to ship these two stars together. “Omg SHIP,” a comment read. “WHAAAAAA? Finally this classy AF queen is in the ranks where she belongs!” Another fan shared.
“Venita getting the Captain America! You go girl! 👏👏👏,” a fan wrote.
While neither star has confirmed a romance, both appear to be single as of this writing. According to TMZ, Mackie was married to Sheletta Chapital from 2014 to 2017, and the former couple shares four children. In August 2025, he was seen kissing a mystery woman in London.
As for Aspen, she had a long-term relationship with Manny Houston, which was seen on “Southern Charm.” The two broke up ahead of season 10 after Houston moved to New York to pursue a Broadway career. Aspen was also linked to her former co-star JT Thomas for a brief period and appeared to casually date “Summer House” star Carl Radke in late 2025, per Bravo.
Is Aspen Returning to ‘Southern Charm?’
GettyAccording to reports from Just Jared, Aspen is expected to return to “Southern Charm” season 12. In fact, several stars of the hit series have said filming has officially wrapped for the new season.
While it’s unclear what drama may unfold in the new season, Aspen has had her fair share of drama within the cast. Last season, she clashed with Salley Carson over Carson’s pursuit of Craig Conover and later had a falling out with Conover after publicly supporting his ex-girlfriend Paige DeSorbo, following their 2024 breakup.
After filming for season 12 wrapped, Aspen shared with RealityTea that she traveled to Europe, where she needed to “regroup.” Can that mean that Aspen found herself in some intense drama this season?
“I went to Europe,” Venita said. “I put myself on a completely different time zone than everyone else, and I really just took time to regroup with myself.”
She continued, “I put everything I needed to put out on the table, and then I had to relive it. But I knew that I put everything out that I needed to go out, and I just needed to let it be what it was going to be, and take time to reset and regroup, and be on a different time zone. Just doing that was very, very helpful.”
