The model and fitness instructor competed on Season 30 of DWTS alongside professional partner Alan Bersten. She placed fourth in the competition. The couple married in 2017, and Cordero passed away in 2020. At the time, their son, Elvis Cordero, was just a few months old. It was a devastating and heartbreaking period in Kloots’ life, so when she posted on Instagram about getting through a divorce and building a fitness empire in her 30s, fans were a bit confused.

In the caption, she elaborated on her message even more. “I was 32 and I genuinely thought my life was over, I decided to take control of who I was and what I wanted for my future, and in 2016 I started my fitness company, @amandaklootsfitness. I have never worked harder than I did in those early days building this company,” she wrote. “Now, almost ten years later, I’ve taught my classes all over the world, spreading the message of joy and gratitude for the simple fact that you get to move your body.”
Fans flooded the comment section with messages of confusion. “I’m confused, i thought she was married to that nice man nick who passed away,” a comment reads. “Were you divorced before you met Nick? I thought you were widowed?” another fan shared.
“I’m confused. You were married before Nick?” a third fan wrote. Kloots responded to this comment (and there are many like it). “Yes was married for seven years before meeting Nick and getting married again then losing him,” she wrote. Well, that clears up the confusion then!
