“Dancing with the Stars” judge Derek Hough and his wife, Hayley Erbert, are expecting the arrival of their first child any day now. While fans watch the couple closely for an announcement of labor or the birth of their rainbow baby, Hough and Erbert are keeping fans updated by sharing content on Instagram, and one of their recent videos has been receiving a lot of attention for its hopeful message.
Derek Hough & Hayley Erbert Share a Hopeful Message
The pair shared a video of themselves standing in the rain on Christmas Day. They embrace and share a tender kiss as they look out at a rainbow. It is a special moment, and it will be one of the last they share as a duo, but it is the caption that is incredibly moving. “Is this a sign?” Hough captioned the post. “After a downpour, the most beautiful rainbow appeared. Like a little sign from the universe. Maybe it’s our little one’s way of saying hello with a grand entrance. Our little rainbow baby, we’re ready to meet you.”
Fans flooded the post’s comments with messages of support and excitement for the arrival of baby Hough. Derek’s sister, Julianne Hough, also reacted. “Come on, little one… we can’t wait to meet you – I know it’s cozy in there, but I promise you’ll be wrapped up in more love than you could ever imagine,” she wrote.
Fellow DWTS judge Carrie Ann Inaba also reacted to the post, writing, “Omg!!! Universe is giving you all some extra love!”
Other reactions include, “There was a double rainbow the day I had my son,” “Merry Christmas!! You had a rainbow at your baby shower too, so this is a definite sign for sure. I love this for you three so much!!!! Xoxoxo,” and “I’m totally on baby Hough watch!!! So excited for you guys.”
Derek Hough & Hayley Erbert’s Rainbow Baby
This is not the first time the couple has spoken about their “rainbow baby,” and they have previously shared the loss of a pregnancy. In an Instagram post on October 15, the pair shared an emotional video about hope and loss.
In the caption, Erbert shared her thoughts, writing, “There are some things in life that change you forever. For us, this is one of those things. A chapter of love, loss, heartbreak, and everything in between.” She revealed that they made the post to raise awareness for Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month in October, sharing heartbreaking statistics about miscarriage and how it is a “silent heartbreak.” But she ended her message with one of hope, writing, “As we share this, know that there’s a rainbow not far behind.”
Fans flooded the post with loving messages.
