Derek Hough’s wife, Hayley Erbert, served as maid of honor at Britt Stewart’s wedding. The “Dancing With the Stars” judge shared a video showing Erbert’s commitment to giving a very special speech the day before the wedding.
Derek Hough’s Wife Hayley Erbert Learned ASL for Britt Stewart’s Wedding
On September 22, Hough took to Instagram to share a video of Erbert as she learned ASL and practiced a speech for Stewart’s wedding.
“A couple weeks ago, @hayley.erbert had the honor of standing beside @brittbenae as her maid of honor,” he wrote in the caption.
Hough continued, “Hayley wanted to learn a bit of ASL so she could speak directly to Daniel in her speech. Watching her do that with so much love and care melted my heart.”
He added, “Such a special wedding, bringing so many different worlds together celebrating two souls and one beautiful love.”
In the video, Erbert was seen practicing her speech, with Hough providing encouragement, telling her, “Babe, it’s unbelievable. It makes me emotional watching you do that.”
Hough shared more clips of Erbert practicing and the final result: not a dry eye during her moving speech!
“Daniel, you have made Britt shine brighter than ever. You are her perfect balance, steady and grounding,” Erbert said, in part. “And you let her be all of who she is.”
She added, “Thank you, for loving my best friend the way she deserves to be.”
Stewart, a “DWTS” pro, married actor Daniel Durant on August 23, 2025. The couple met when they competed together on “Dancing With the Stars” season 31.
