JoJo Siwa gave fans a quick update following a terrifying health scare that landed her in the hospital.
On Friday, November 28, Siwa explained in a TikTok video why she was rushed to the hospital just hours before a performance at the Mall of America.
The singer, 22, revealed that she experienced severe stomach pains, leaving her unable to breathe.
“So long story short, every time that I’ve been dancing for the last couple of days or even just like walking like anything, my stomach would just really, really hurt,” Siwa explained. “And I don’t know why, but it just kind of passed, and so I was like, ‘Oh, maybe it’s that time of the month, maybe it’s a cramp, I don’t know.'”
JoJo Siwa Reveals Reason Behind ‘Excruciating’ Pain
By Friday morning, Siwa’s pain got “really bad,” and not even sleep could ease it.
“I laid down, I closed my eyes, and I was like, ‘I can’t breathe,'” she continued. The singer got in the bathtub, thinking it would “calm” down her muscles, but it only made it worse.
“That set it off 100 times worse,” Siwa recalled. “I was in [the bathtub] for maybe four minutes, and all of a sudden I was like, I have to get out immediately ’cause I knew I was gonna black out and I felt like I was gonna throw up.”
Later, an ultrasound revealed that Siwa had a cyst on one of her ovaries that burst.
“One of my ovaries had a cyst on it that burst and was bleeding into my stomach,” Siwa explained. “So that’s what was causing the excruciating pain โ anytime that the blood in your stomach moves, that’s the bleeding in the stomach.”
The “Dancing With the Stars” alum was told that it should resolve itself. After taking pain medication, she resumed her scheduled performance, showing no signs of health problems at all.
Fans Praise Siwa’s Dedication
Many were moved by Siwaโs commitment to her work. Despite her condition, she carried on with the show, and fans truly admired it.
One fan wrote, “And you were only 10 minutes late!? We wouldโve never known.. so sorry! Minnesota was thankful for you! Me and my daughter wonโt ever forget it!”
Someone noted, “And this is a woman that is trolled online badly yet is still always so dedicated to others!! Get well soon youโre incredible!!”
Another shared, “Oh wow, burst cysts are super painful. How you managed to do your show, I don’t know. Superwoman. I hope the pain stops soon for you. Please look after yourself.”
Siwa assured her fans that she’s “doing all right,” though she still needs to get checked out again in a week.
