All eyes have been on “Dancing with the Stars” judge Derek Hough and his wife, Hayley Erbert, as they officially announced the birth of their daughter on Instagram on January 5. However, Julianne Hough has also caught her fans’ attention, and the attention of her ex, when she posted her own announcement, wishing everyone a happy New Year.
Julianne Hough Gets the Attention of Her Fans
Hough posted a short video on Instagram on Monday, January 5. It shows her in her bikini, running in the rain, spending time in a sauna, writing a heart on the window, and slipping and falling. She also jumps into the pool and spends time with her dog. She looks gorgeous!
In the caption, she shared a hopeful message. “New chapters are sexy. Gravity is real. Growth is learning how to catch yourself… and rise again. Happy New Year,” she wrote.
The comment section has been flooded with reactions from celebrities and fans, including Jenna Dewan. “Omg how do you still look stunning even mid fall,” she wrote. DWTS Season 34 competitor and finalist Elaine Hendrix also reacted, writing, “Girl!!!! You’re sexy, but heart attacks aren’t. So don’t give me one.”
Other reactions include, “Omg that was CONCRETE and not a slip and slide??? RIP,” “Happy New Year, Jules and Sunny I love the relationship you have with your dog,” and “I was worried watching you falling and mom was like ‘she’s falling with style’ happy New Year.”
Former hockey player Brooks Laiche also reacted to the post. Laiche and Hough started dating in 2013 and married in 2017, separating in 2020. “Hahahaa omg Jules that’s a good wipeout!!!! It is great to see the exes are on good terms and it shows real maturity.

Another ex that Hough recently interacted with was Ryan Seacrest, when she co-hosted “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2026.” She co-hosted with NFL star Rob Gronkowski live from Las Vegas, Nevada, on December 31, 2025, but in an Instagram post on January 2, Hough thanked Seacrest.
“Now that I’m dried off…I had the wettest but bestest way to ring in 2026 with all of you!” she wrote in the caption of her post. She also used it as a way to thank everyone involved in the show and her co-host Gronkowski. To end her message, she addressed Seacrest. “To @ryanseacrest, you’re the GOAT! Your tips and encouragement made me better, thanks for rolling the Vegas dice on me,” she shared.
Hough and Seacrest dated from 2010 until 2013. She is currently single, but recently shared what she is looking for in a potential partner. “It’s all energy-based,” she told E! News on December 26. “I don’t really have a type. It’s more connection, and that’s it. I’m always looking for love, whether it’s in a romantic sense or friends. Always.”
