The official “Dancing With the Stars” season 35 cast list is out. However, may fans felt sorely disappointed to realize that two fan-favorite pros weren’t competing.
Sasha Farber and Gleb Savchenko were noticeably absent from the cast reveal yesterday morning. Gleb later issued an announcement that he was moving forward with his life. However, Sasha seemed genuinely disheartened that he didn’t receive a celebrity partner this year.
No matter what, the Australian dancer is determined to keep his head up and continue dancing.
Sasha Farber Admits He Didn’t Chose to Sit Out This Year
Sasha Farber won’t be competing in “Dancing With the Stars” season 35, but he’s still dancing. Shortly after “Good Morning America” revealed the full cast list on September 2, he posted a new TikTok. In the video, he shows off a few steps in his home.
Fans quickly flooded the comments to express disappointment that Sasha won’t compete for the second year in a row.
“Genuinely at this point you’re all over social and they’re leveraging you…. is this your choice?” one viewer asked.
In a now-deleted comment, Sasha confirmed that it wasn’t his choice, as reported by Us Weekly. Fans immediately rallied around the dancer and wished for his grand return to the stage.
“Sad you’re not on the show this season. Had a feeling based on your recent posts tho 😭” one TikTok user wrote.
“Who do we need to petition to or talk to to get our boy Sasha back on full cast on DWTS!?!?!?! Need to see him on the ballroom floor each week!” another added.
“I’m sad you aren’t a pro, please come back 😭😭” someone else chimed in.
The Australian Dancer Appeared at the DWTS Convention
Though Sasha Farber didn’t receive a celebrity partner this year, he’s still been heavily used in “Dancing With the Stars” promotions. He eagerly appeared at the “Dancing With the Stars” convention in Palm Springs this summer and seemed delighted to engage with fans.
Farber even hosted a cooking class for convention attendees. While speaking with EntertainmentNow editor Lauren Weigle, he gushed over the opportunity to connect with DWTS fans.
“I am excited for my cooking class because it’s going to be seasoned to perfection,” Sasha shared. “And just dancing, playing games with the fans. We’re legit. We’re really testing the boundaries, we’re going to have such a good time.”
Sasha Farber seems to be on great terms with his fellow “Dancing With the Stars” castmates, including his ex-wife, Emma Slater. Last year, he performed in some group routines and frequently appeared in behind the scenes social media posts.
While Sasha won’t compete this year, it’s still entirely possible he will play a role in some shape or form. Fans should keep their eyes peeled when tuning into this year’s competition.
“Dancing With the Stars” season 35 begins at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15, on ABC. Tune in the following night to catch the second part of the premiere on Wednesday, September 16.
