Anne Hathaway‘s costumes for “The Devil Wears Prada 2” have been impeccably glamorous and styled to perfection, but a casual outfit has captured the attention of fans.
The star threw back to an iconic moment from the first “Devil Wears Prada” film in an Instagram post.
Anne Hathaway’s Nod To Cerulean Moment
People captured a screenshot of an Instagram story posted by stylist Ashley Afriyie, featuring a nod to one of the most quotable scenes from “The Devil Wears Prada.”
In the photo, Hathaway is wearing a white, hooded sweatshirt with a blue square on the back. But, to borrow a line from Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly, “That sweater is not just blue, itโs not turquoise, itโs not lapis, itโs actually cerulean.”
The photo was posted with the caption, “#CeruleanBlue has entered the chat.” Eagle eyed fans will notice a fake HTML color code under the square that reads “DWP2-010526.” Or, of course, “Devil Wears Prada 2,” followed by the release date of May 01, 2026.
It’s not the first time Hathaway has posted a callback to the cerulean moment.
In 2025, she posted a TikTok video captioned “Heading to werk #dwp2.” In the short clip, she can be seen quickly ducking into frame wearing a cerulean blue sweater. Her hair is also tousled in what could be a nod to her character Andy Sachs.
Hathaway In High Fashion For “Devil Wears Prada 2” Promo
GettyHathaway’s other outfits for “The Devil Wears Prada 2” press tour have been a touch more haute couture.
At a Q&A for the film in Mexico City, Hathaway donned a fringed, asymmetrical LBD with a chic pair of rimless sunglasses, reported InStyle. The outfit also featured nods to power dressing with padded shoulders, a buttoned up neckline, and an enormous gilded belt that covered Hathaway’s entire torso.
Streep kept true to Miranda Priestly’s formidable but fashionable roots in a sleek red suit.
GettyFor the film’s screening, Hathaway dressed in an ensemble by Stella McCartney, per Harper’s Bazaar. Hathaway, styled by Erin Walsh, wore an outfit direct from the Fall/Winter 2026 ready-to-wear collection.
The stylish star paired a sparkling pink mini dress with a pair of a statement boots. It was possibly a callback to “the Chanel boots” sported by Andy during a pivotal scene in the first film.
Streep chose a sleek navy blue satin shirt dress with gold accents, paired with a high ponytail.
The duo are sure to show off more bold, fashion forward choices before the release of “The Devil Wears Prada 2” on May 1.
