Diane Von Furstenberg paid tribute to Brigitte Bardot and shared a glimpse into the past with a social media post shortly after the French actress and model died on December 28, 2025.
The Belgian fashion designer wrote in the caption of the post, which she shared to her Instagram account, “Brigitte Bardot, the true icon of French cinema, has left us at age 90. May she rest in peace!”
DVF went on to declare, “Peace is what she wanted most. A recluse for decades, she lived a simple life surrounded by animals that she rescued!”
The reality star, who frequently appears on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,” shared the origins of the vintage photo she included in her post. She revealed the photo was taken at Bardot’s St. Tropez home, and said it was one of the rare times the entertainer had a party there.
“How I ended up there at 18 is still a mystery, but here I was at the bottom right corner,” mused the 78-year-old, before recalling that the them of the party was “pirates.”
Jennifer Aniston Called Brigitte Bardot a ‘Legend’
GettyAround December 29, “Friends” star Jennifer Aniston took to her Instagram Stories to remember the late star. Aniston’s message was simple and sweet. She wrote, “RIP, Legend,” and emphasized the note with emojis of a broken heart and a dove. For background music, Aniston chose the French song “La Vie en Rose” by รdith Piaf.
The Instagram Story has expired since Aniston posted it, but GeoNews shared a screenshot.
Brigitte Bardot Was a Mother of One
Bardot had one son, Nicolas-Jacques Charrier. The actress welcomed him in 1960 with her second husband, Jacques Charrier, per People.
The outlet says her son arrived via a home birth in the couple’s Paris apartment, and that Bardot allowed Charrier to take full custody when they divorced in 1962. The report points out that Bardot once wrote in a memoir, “I am not made to be a mother” and also declared, “I’m not adult enough to take care of a child.”
Bardot went on to get married twice more. She was married to Gunther Sachs, a German millionaire, from 1966 to 1969. Then, in 1992, she married businessman Bernard dโOrmale, per the story.
French outlet La Point said in 2024 that Bardot told them she had promised her son she would no longer speak publicly about him. The agreement came years after she was ordered by a Paris court to pay a fine of $40,000 for mentioning him in her book, according to People.
