Nara Smith, a fashion model who has grown a huge social media following with her scratch cooking videos in which she creates homemade recipes while dressed in elaborate formal outfits, announced on Wednesday, July 1, that her two-year-old daughter Whimsy Lou received a cancer diagnosis. She did not specify the type of cancer.
GettyShe shared the news in a video statement that was published to her social media accounts. She wrote in the caption that she’s “thankful for each and every nurse and doctor along our journey who get helped us get through and out the other end.”
Nara is a German model who moved to the United States at the age of 18 to pursue her career. She married fellow model Lucky Blue Smith, who was previously in a high-profile relationship with former Miss Teen USA Stormi Henley, in February 2020.
Nara, now 24, said in Wednesday’s announcement that Whimsy, the third of her and Lucky’s four children, was diagnosed with cancer in late 2025. She says the story began when she took Whimsy to the ER after noticing “something suspicious.”
She says they didn’t receive answers at the ER, so they took Whimsey to see her pediatrician, who became “really quiet and calm,” which made Nara’s heart drop.
She recalled her first feeling being “she has cancer,” crediting her accurate prediction to a mom’s intuition. She says they were instructed to take the tot to the nearest children’s hospital for further evaluation, so Lucky immediately took Whimsy to the hospital.

“After a lot of X-rays, ultrasounds, and finally a biopsy, they immediately called us and said that she had cancer,” Nara revealed. She says the family was told Whimsy’s cancer had already spread, and she needed to “start chemo treatments immediately,” Nara said.
She then talked about how she’s been finding support in community, saying, “Throughout all of this, I’ve been on a plethora of forums, social media, also talked to parents and family in the hospital. And all of that combined really brought me a lot of comfort and alleviated the feeling of loneliness for me.”
The TikTok superstar, who has over 12 million followers on the platform, said she’s choosing to share her story “in order to hopefully bring someone else that comfort, or even incentivize you to go get something checked out that you’ve been avoiding.”

Nara and Lucky Blue Smith’s fourth and newest child, a daughter named Fawnie Golden, made her arrival in September 2025, shortly before Whimsy’s cancer diagnosis.
She shared, “Processing this and navigating all of this as a family has been really hard,” and explained it’s the reason she’s taken a step back from her content and been “posting a little less.”
