The Hallmark Channel’s newest movie, “Adventures in Love & Birding,” premieres on Saturday September 27, at 8p.m. Eastern/ 7p.m. Central. The movie stars Rachel Boston and Andrew Walker. Read on to learn all about where it was filmed and see behind-the-scenes cast stories.
‘Adventures in Love & Birding’ Was Filmed in Canada
Like many Hallmark movies, “Adventures in Love & Birding” was filmed in Canada, particularly in the Vancouver region (where birding competition scenes were filmed, among other moments) and in the British Columbia region, 4Filming reported.
Filming took place in May.
The movie is adapted from the novel by Sarah T. Dubb called “Birding with Benefits.”
Boston posted some behind-the-scenes pictures on Instagram, commenting “Behind the scenes! #AdventuresInLoveAndBirding”
One person replied, “This is making me miss home 🇨🇦 It feels very North Vancouver / West Van.”

On Instagram, Walker shared his love for the magic of Photoshop and how the creative team brings studio pictures to life for their promo.
He wrote: “Love seeing our amazing creative team and photographers work. Lots of thought and decision making goes into our @hallmarkchannel posters. These photoshoots can tend to be quite awkward (speaking for myself), so I love seeing the final product. Hope you do too. 🤓”
He also shared a video full of behind the scene memories! “What’s the secret to great on screen chemistry? Bootcamp, birdwatching and a little yoga to keep our chakras & chis aligned. 💪” he wrote.
And Walker already had a close connection to birds before the movie was made, he told Heartful of Hallmark when he shared that he lives near a bird sanctuary.
Walker shared a post with behind-the-scenes photos and wrote about how much he enjoyed filming the movie.
“So grateful to be bringing #BirdingwithBenefits written by @sarahtdubbwrites from the page to the screen 🌿🐦. This story is so much more than a romance—it’s about conservation, finding connection with nature, and the simple joy of slowing down. Birding is about relaxation, mindfulness, and it’s a hobby anyone can take on… even kids!” he wrote.

Andrew Walker is John. He’s well known among Hallmark fans for the numerous popular films he’s starred in, including the “Three Wise Men” series.
