Witt Wrote & Preformed Original Music for ‘Christmas Tree Lane’
In addition to starring in and executive producing the film, Witt contributed an original song that her character, Meg Reilly, performs. The song “Christmas Will Never End” was released as a single in 2020 to coincide with the premiere of the film. Like Witt, Meg is a pianist and a singer-songwriter who works as a music teacher and helps her father run his music shop on the historic Christmas Tree Lane, which she is spearheading the effort to save from demolition, per the official synopsis on Hallmark Mystery.
Witt starred opposite Andrew Walker as Nate, who works for the company Meg’s fighting against. The cast also includes Drake Hogestyn and Briana Price.
In an interview with TV Fanatic, Witt went into detail about her song “Christmas Will Never End.” She explained that the song was completed only a couple of days before she had to travel to Utah to film. “So, the scenes in the movie where Meg is in the process of writing the song were filmed only a couple of weeks after I had finished writing the song myself,” Witt said.
She continued, “I wanted it to be a song that was obviously not only a love song, reflecting how she’s coming to feel for Nate and the miracle that he is in her life, but also during the course of the film, as Meg is coming to terms with the fact that they may very well lose Christmas Tree Lane, she’s also coming around to the understanding that even if they do, the memories that they share and the community that they’ve built over generations will be everlasting despite that.”
