Hallmark Favorite Andrew Walker Reveals His Dream Romantic Co-star

Andrew Walker is opening up about the actors he’d most like to be paired with next on screen.

Walker has become one of the most recognizable faces in the Hallmark Channel family, carving out a steady presence as a leading man in the network’s roster of cozy romances. Over the years, Walker has led some of its most popular love stories, such as Three Wise Men and a Baby (2022) and Bottled with Love (2019), becoming a familiar fixture in seasonal premieres and romantic comedies. While he’s already worked with a wide range of talent across his Hallmark career, the actor admits there are still a few dream collaborators left on his list.

In a recent conversation with Haley, the creator and host of Crown Chats, Walker revealed the co-stars he’d most love to work with next.

Walker Shouts Out Two Hallmark Leading Ladies

“Dream co-star you still have yet to work with?” Haley asked Walker during his April 29 interview.

“Oh, this is tough,” Walker responded. “There’s a few. Kimberley Sustad, Erin Cahill… I would say those two right now.”

Sustad is known for her roles in fan-favorite holiday films, such as The Nine Lives of Christmas (2014) and its sequel The Nine Kittens of Christmas (2021). She has also starred in Christmas by Starlight (2020), Wedding Every Weekend (2020), and A Godwink Christmas (2018).

Though Sustad and Walker have been in Hallmark films together, such as A Bride for Christmas (2012) and Three Wise Men and a Baby (2022) where Sustad made a cameo, they have never been cast opposite each other as romantic leads.

Cahill is another staple with the network, best known for her roles in Sleigh Bells Ring (2016), Love, Fall and Order (2019), A Timeless Christmas (2020), The Secret Ingredient (2020), and Christmas on Cherry Lane (2023). She has also starred in and produced films for Hallmark, such as Every Time a Bell Rings (2021).

Back in 2023, Cahill named Walker as one of the Hallmark leading men she wants to work with, according to Just Jared.

“I’ve known him for like 15, 16, maybe more than that, years,” Cahill told the outlet at the time. “We’ve never done a Hallmark movie.”

Walker Promotes ‘Kentucky Roses’ on The Kelly Clarkson Show

During his April 24 appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Walker compared his upcoming film “Kentucky Roses” to the iconic film “Titanic.”

When Clarkson asked Walker to explain the comparison, he answered, “It’s a multi-generational movie. It’s surrounded around this necklace that we find. It’s a heritage necklace that’s been missing for a hundred years, and it’s two unlikely people that find each other despite coming from two completely different worlds…”

“Kentucky Roses” takes place at Churchill Downs across two timelines, present day and 1932.

In the present-day, Sadie Moore, played by Odette Annable, works in the Churchill Downs greenhouse. She dreams of one day becoming a florist and contributing to the Derby’s garland of roses, following in the footsteps of her great-grandmother, Gloria.

As Derby Day approaches, Sadie meets the son of Churchill Downs’ CEO, Ash Taylor (Walker), who’s been asked to do an emergency repair on one of the Twin Spires that was damaged after a storm. The pair begin to bond, but their blossoming romance is complicated by “the weight of family legacy and the desire to carve out their own paths” as well as “a long-buried connection between their families,” per the official Churchill Downs website.

The film will be premiering on Hallmark Channel on Saturday, May 2 at 8 p.m. ET, the same day as the 2026 Kentucky Derby, which is famously held the first Saturday in May every year at Churchill Downs.
