Baby number two is on the way for “Glee” alum and Hallmark actress Becca Tobin, who announced the happy news via her “BabyGang” podcast — a six-episode spinoff of her popular “LadyGang” podcast — on April 29, 2026. Tobin, 40, and her husband, Zach Martin, are expecting their second baby via surrogacy in late summer, she said.
Tobin also posted a sweet Instagram video of herself calling to share the news with her best friend Megan, writing in the caption, “I’ve been waiting a long time for this moment, and my heart is bursting to finally share it!”
Becca Tobin Admits She’s ‘Thrilled’ & ‘Scared’ to Welcome Baby Girl
Tobin’s surrogate, Katie, joined her for the April 29 edition of her podcast, telling listeners that while she and her husband are excited, they’re also nervous to be expanding their family. The couple is also parents to four-year-old son Rutherford “Ford” Thomas, who was born in February 2022, also via surrogate, per People.
“Zach and I are welcoming a baby girl at the end of the summer via surrogacy, and we are thrilled,” she said on her latest podcast. “We are scared. We’ve had a singleton. Is that what you call him? Singleton for four years now. It’s been incredible, wonderful, magical, and we are doing it again. Round two.”
Tobin, whose most recent Hallmark movie was 2023’s “The Wedding Contract” opposite Jake Epstein, opened up on “LadyGang” in 2020 about enduring years of infertility struggles, including two miscarriages and unsuccessful attempts at in vitro fertilization. When they decided to turn to a surrogate, they told very few people.
“The first time around, when Ford was coming, we were really private and very secretive about him coming because of a few things,” Tobin explained on her April 29 podcast. “The world is a [expletive] place sometimes, and people really like to insert their opinions on how you create your family, and that can really spoil the experience.”
“We were nervous because we had had so many failed attempts,” Tobin added.
Becca Tobin Reveals Her Surrogate Had a Miscarriage Before Current Successful Pregnancy
Four years later, Tobin told her podcast co-hosts Keltie Knight and Jac Vanek that she’s no longer nervous to tell the world they’re expecting via a surrogate.
“This time around, I have such a thick skin with people, as you’ll see, judging my decisions, my choices,” she declared. So what the [expletive]? You know, why not?”
Talking with her surrogate, Katie, Tobin acknowledged, “We’ve been on quite the journey already, but we’re on the upswing.”
She then shared that they had a “failed transfer” and miscarriage before establishing the successful pregnancy with the baby girl on the way, noting “how strange it was” to go through another miscarriage without the physical experience of it.
“Also, I felt so much anxiety for you because I didn’t want you to feel badly that it didn’t work,” she told Katie.
