Recalling favorite memories of working with Keaton, MacDowell wrote in her tribute, “Diane Keaton directed me in Unstrung Heroes & it was an honor to work with her. I loved watching how she cared about every detail. She was very involved with set decoration, colors and her creative touch was very much a part of the film. I believe it is one of my best performances and I’m proud of the movie.”

When someone commented on her post that they thought it was actress Barbara Hershey in “Unstrung Heroes,” MacDowell responded on October 12, “I was the first person chosen to be at the Film, which is one of the greatest things that I’ve ever happened to me. Diane chose me.”

“I happen(ed) to be pregnant with my daughter Margaret and I had to tell everybody I was pregnant,” MacDowell continued. “It was early on, but we did have to shoot around my belly a little bit. There’s one shot you can see. I’m doing from the carso there you go you got a special story that I gave to no one else because you thought it was Barbara have a glorious day.”

MacDowell also said she and Keaton commiserated over their big-budget, 2001 box office flop “Town nd Country,” which also co-starred Warren Beatty, Goldie Hawn, Garry Shandling, and Charlton Heston.

“That was an odd experience,” MacDowell recalled. “I told her how thankful she was in the movie and she said the same to me. It was one of those films you could tell was spiraling out of control.”
