A fan favorite actor who has starred in a number of Hallmark movies is headed back to television. “Valentine’s Again” star Greg Vaughan has landed a mysterious new role back in the land of soap operas.
Greg Vaughan Has Joined ‘Beyond the Gates’
According to Soap Opera Network on October 6, Vaughan will join the cast of the newest soap opera, “Beyond the Gates.”
For now, the show is keeping specifics regarding Vaughan’s character under wraps. The media outlet noted that the show did confirm that Vaughan is a new cast member and indicated he will begin airing this season.
The network has already renewed “Beyond the Gates” for a second season, which will begin airing in 2026.
As Deadline shared in July, “Beyond the Gates” executive producers Sheila Ducksworth and Michele Val Jean teased Vaughan’s addition, without revealing his name.
They said that a “hot male” would pop up in the fall, and Val Jean hinted, “I think the soap opera world will be very, very happy about [the casting].”
Ducksworth added, “I can’t say who just yet, but I will say longtime soap fans all know and love him!”
Soap Fans Are Excited to See Vaughan in a New Role
As fans know, Vaughan is no newcomer to the soap world. He played Diego Guttierez on “The Young and the Restless” for 43 episodes in 2002 and 2003, and he also appeared on “General Hospital” as Lucky Spencer for over 600 episodes between 2003 and 2009.
Vaughan later moved over to “Days of Our Lives,” where he played Eric Brady from 2012 to 2025. He has also been on a number of primetime shows, including “Queen Sugar” and “Charmed.”
As soon as the news about Vaughan heading to “Beyond the Gates” emerged, soap fans expressed their excitement.
On Instagram, one fan gushed, “I can’t wait! I wonder what his storyline will be and who he’ll be. Vanessa’s brother or family member…someone’s ex? I’m here for anything!”
On X, formerly Twitter, another fan of Vaughan’s raved, “This is literally Beyond AWESOME! I can’t wait to see Greg on #BeyondTheGates Fingers crossed he is paired with Nicole.”

Another tweet read, “Hooray!!! Greg Vaughan is coming to #BeyondTheGates! Now we FINALLY have a guy (hopefully LEADING MAN!!!) who actually *looks* the part of a HOT daytime stud!!! We need to see him [in a towel] at least 3x/week!”
