Jen Lilley’s latest movie, “A Royal Setting,” recently debuted on Hallmark, and fans loved it. Now, she has revealed she is working on filming a new movie. Unfortunately, she noted that she couldn’t share many details yet.
Jen Lilley Is Giddy About the Movie She Is Filming
On April 28, Lilley took to her Instagram Stories to share some life updates with fans. Her video was primarily about the new book she is releasing soon. However, she slipped in a filming tidbit, as well.
Her video began, “So, I am on [the] set of a new movie, and I’m not allowed to talk about what this one is.”
Unfortunately, Lilley’s look and surroundings didn’t give any major clues about the movie.
She added, “I’m very excited about it. Very, very excited about it.”
In addition, Lilley admitted, this project is why she has not been around on social media very much lately.
Lilley spent the rest of the video talking about her new book, which is titled “Call to Foster: An Honest Guide to Getting Started.”
The new book will be released on May 5 and is currently available for pre-order. Lilley explained that it is geared toward people who are interested in becoming foster parents, like she and her husband used to do.
As People previously noted, Lilley and her husband, Jason Wayne, adopted two boys after being foster parents to them. The couple also has two biological daughters.
In a Facebook post that Lilley shared on April 8, she noted the book was for both existing and prospective foster parents. “It will be your lifeline in a battle that feels extremely lonely at times,” she wrote.
The Hallmark Star Has Been Juggling Multiple Work Projects in Recent Months
In her Instagram Story, Lilley mentioned she has had “so many things on my plate.” Fans who follow her on social media know that has definitely been the case.
Lilley has been working on several non-acting projects, such as this book and her “Wake Up Your Campus” program. She also has a role in the upcoming Jimmy Stewart biopic, which includes fellow Hallmark star Sarah Drew.
Filming for “Jimmy” is complete, and a short listed on her IMDb page titled “Out of the Shadows” is also listed as complete.
In addition, Lilley has a role in a project named “Revelation Road,” which is in post-production. A fourth project, “Holiday Hearts,” is listed as being in pre-production.
In February 2025, Variety shared that the independent film was slated to be filmed in May 2025. The movie was intended to be released during the Christmas 2025 season, but as of yet, it has not debuted.
Given Lilley’s enthusiasm throughout her new Instagram Story, the movie she is now filming is a fun one. It’s not known whether it is something for Hallmark or another network, and fans will be eager to learn more.
Lilley’s role in “A Royal Setting” marked her first movie for Hallmark in several years. She left the network in early 2022 to work on projects for Great American Family.
Her contract there has since ended, which opened up the opportunity to return to Hallmark to do “A Royal Setting.” Lilley has made it clear she is thrilled to be back and would love to do more projects with Hallmark again.
