Hallmark star John Brotherton recently shared a precious story about his daughter and why he has referred to her as his “good luck baby.”
The “Following Yonder Star” actor reflected on the story as he embraced a special screening of “The Conjuring: Last Rites,” the follow-up to the iconic 2013 film “The Conjuring” and 2016 sequel, “The Conjuring: 2.” Brotherton took one of his daughters with him to the screening, and given the story he shared on Instagram, he made the perfect decision.
John Brotherton Had to Leave His Wife & Newborn to Film ‘The Conjuring’
On August 28, Brotherton shared a handful of photos from “The Conjuring: Last Rites” event on his Instagram page. The first picture showed him smiling as his daughter, Saylor Callisto, smiled as she stood behind him and placed her chin on his shoulder.
In the caption, Brotherton shared, “TRUE STORY: To shoot the original @theconjuring, I left town for two months, the very same day my daughter was born.”
He continued, “Yep, in true Hollywood fashion I had to leave my wife (with her blessing) and newborn in the hospital, to go to work. Not knowing at the time, the success The Conjuring universe would become.”
“I have since sworn Saylor was the franchise good luck baby,” Brotherton declared.
Now, he added, “13 1/2 years later she’s also my date to the grand finale. The LA Premiere of The Conjuring: Last Rites.”
Brotherton wrapped his Instagram post caption by writing, “I’m so grateful to be along for the ride with such an epic franchise. Eternal gratitude to the true conjurers: James, Peter and Michael.”
The “true conjurers” Brotherton referenced were James Wan, the Conjuring Universe creator and director, along with producer Peter Safran and director Michael Chaves, who also worked on all three films.
The Actor’s Fans Gushed Over His Daughter

One fan wrote, “What a kind wife!” Brotherton directly replied, “She’s like a superhero.”
Brotherton’s wife is Alison Raimondi, who has popped up in shows such as “Days of Our Lives,” “CSI: NY,” and “One Life to Live.” Raimondi and Brotherton wed in June 2008, and they welcomed their older daughter, Shia Bellatrix, in September 2010.
Another of Brotherton’s fans commented, “Daddy’s Lil Girl!” on his post.
“This story is wonderful. It all circles back to family,” someone else noted.
One fan wrote, “Too scary for me but your daughter is beautiful.”
