John Stamos Jumps to Lori Loughlin’s Defense in Support of Longtime Friend

John Stamos is standing behind his Full House co-star Lori Loughlin as the former Hallmark star goes through a very public separation.

After 28 years of marriage, Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli separated earlier this month, with the actress’s representative, Elizabeth Much, confirming the news to People, adding that they “are living apart and taking a break from their marriage. There are no legal proceedings at this time.”

And now, Stamos is weighing in and sending love to his on-screen wife, while also specifically speaking out about Loughlin’s involvement in the 2019 college admissions scandal.

Stamos and Loughlin created a very close bond, having played husband and wife on the popular show “Full House,” and have stayed friends after the show ended.

John Stamos Appears on Josh Peck and Ben Soffer’s ‘Good Guys’ Podcast

During an appearance on Josh Peck and Ben Soffer’s “Good Guys” podcast, the topic of Loughlin’s split from Giannulli was brought up, and Stamos praised his co-star, calling her a “saint.”

“For 40 years I’ve known her,” Stamos said. “You know, you can see through people after a few years, but this woman’s a saint. I’m just heartbroken for her right now.”

He went on to call him a “terrible narcissist,” and said that Loughlin “put up with a lot over the years [with] this guy.”

And on the topic of the 2019 college admissions scandal, Stamos made it clear that he believes Loughlin had nothing to do with the incident that saw her serve two months in prison while Giannulli served five months.

“I really tried to be there for her during this time and also with the college scandal,” he added. “I’m not going to debate whether she had much to do with it or not. I know she didn’t.”

He added that she’s “not a liar,” and even told Stamos at the time that “Mossimo handles all that stuff,” when he called her after the scandal broke.

John Stamos Admits He ‘Hates’ To See Lori Loughlin Going Through This Tough Time

On the episode of Josh Peck and Ben Soffer’s “Good Guys” podcast, the pain Stamos felt for his friend was very clear.

“All of a sudden they’re split up and I know she’s just devastated,” he said. “For a girl who, you know, has lived her life really well, [is] a good person, a good mother, a good wife. I know all this for a fact. To be thrown into, now, this separation and exploding, blowing up her family this way. And I just hate to see her go through this.”

  1. This is very kind of you. I know you sign on for no privacy but really people, get a grip, she is still a human being and it’s nobody’s damn business what she does personally. I pray she is happy and remains as beautiful as she is. Go Lori!!!!
