With over 40 Hallmark movies to her name, including at least 15 holiday titles over the last decade, Lacey Chabert has earned her unofficial title as Hallmark’s Queen of Christmas. Her Christmas movie magic spills over into real life; Chabert happily admits she goes all-out to celebrate the season each year.
Chabert has maintained in interviews that she has healthy Christmas decorating boundaries, insisting she waits until the day after Halloween to put up her many decorations. But according to an adorable new video taken by Chabert’s nine-year-old daughter, Julia, on October 29, 2025, Chabert got the party started early this year. Busted!
Lacey Chabert’s Daughter Catches Her Decorating For Christmas
In the video posted to Chabert’s social media feed, Julia stealthily films her famous mom in their family’s front yard wearing sweats, sunglasses, and slippers, as she hangs giant ornaments on a tree. In the caption, Chabert quipped, “My 9 year old continues to keep me humble ;)”
Julia’s sweet little voice narrates the video, starting with a news flash: “I found my mom outside, setting up Christmas ornaments before it’s even Halloween.”
“It’s her happy place,” she continues. “There’s even a Christmas tree inside now. It’s not even Halloween or November. But don’t say that or else she’s gonna get mad.”
“But at least we still have a spider and a pumpkin in the tree; she won’t ruin that,” Julia says happily, only to see her mom grab the spider decoration and toss it in the grass. After yelling for her spider, Julia returns with additional amusing commentary as her mom decorates.
“This is all she likes to do ever since she was born,” Julia sighs. “Ever since she was born, she knew she would like setting up Christmas five months early. Not five months, but very early.”
Zooming in on her hard-at-work mom, Julia hilariously whispers, “Yo Lacey,” before turning her attention to the discarded spider in the grass, which she notes is now missing an eye. And she zooms in closer and closer, Julia sighs, “My poor spider!”
Andrew Walker Jokes That He Wants ‘More Julia Narration’ of Lacey Chabert’s Life
HallmarkChabert’s famous friends and fans loved the way adorably Julia roasted her mom. Andrew Walker, who co-stars with Chabert in the upcoming Hallmark movie “She’s Making a List,” wrote in the comment section, “Oh my word… 🤣 Can this please become a weekly thing… I need more Julia narration in my life.”
Chabert’s bestie and “Haul Out the Halloween co-star Kimberly Brown wrote, “‘Yo, Lacey’ she continues to be funnier than we will ever be. 😂😂” and Chabert responded, “ever. 🙄”
Hallmark Channel’s social media account cutely chimed in, “One day she will understand.” And fellow “Haul Out the Holly” franchise co-star Melissa Peterman wrote that the video was now her “favorite thing ever.”

Lacey Chabert Has to Sneak New Holiday Decor Past Her Husband
This is the second video taken by Julia of her mom prepping for the holidays. On October 17, she filmed Chabert carrying armloads of decor in the driveway, claiming she bought the pieces while at the grocery store.
“Where’s Dad?” Lacey asks, and Julia replies, “Watching TV? Whyyyy? Why are you sneaking around?”
Over the video, text said, “POV: when your mom realizes there are only 10 Fridays til Christmas”
During an appearance on “The Viall Files” podcast in late September, Chabert laughingly admitted she has to sneak in new Christmas decorations when her husband of nearly 12 years, David Nehdar, isn’t looking.
When podcast co-hosts Nick and Natalie Viall quizzed Chabert about her love of Christmas, asking if she has multiple decorated trees, she answered, “I do. I have to hide them from my husband because he’s like, ‘Enough with the Christmas decorations!'”
“I may have ordered another one last week,” she admitted. “I’m hoping to intercept the box before he sees it. I just love it. The more the better.”
