While there’s been no word from Hallmark about the fate of Jodie Sweetin and Stephen Huszar’s “The Jane Mysteries” franchise after four movies together, Huszar revealed in a new interview that he has two new Hallmark movies premiering this year.
In a February 2026 interview with Authority Magazine, published via Medium, the longtime Hallmark hunk shared that he’s already filmed one very patriotic movie in Philadelphia, expected to debut this summer, as well as a new Christmas movie.
Stephen Huszar Teases Hallmark Movie About ‘American Independence’
HallmarkHuszar has starred in nearly 20 Hallmark movies since 2017 and on two seasons of the Hallmark series “Chesapeake Shores,” per IMDb. His latest project was November’s “Melt My Heart This Christmas” opposite Laura Vandervoort.
Next up, the native Canadian told Authority, is an untitled project that sounds like its release may align with the 4th of July.
“I just finished shooting a movie about American independence a couple of months ago,” Huszar shared. “It was in Philadelphia, shooting around the Liberty Bell, covering the story of American Independence in 1776. This coming year is the 250-year anniversary of America. That is a very exciting project that should be released in the summertime on Hallmark.”
Huszar spends most of his free time in the U.S. with his girlfriend Katie Cassidy, whom he met in early 2023 while they were filming Hallmark’s “A Royal Christmas Crush.”
He told Authority of his patriotic movie, “Now that I am living mostly in America, based out of Los Angeles, it gave me an opportunity to research and learn more about the country I am residing in. It is a fascinating history about Americans standing up to the British, becoming independent, and creating this beautiful nation. I really enjoyed that.”

Hallmark/GettyHuszar also told Authority about a new holiday flick for Hallmark, though he didn’t specify if it will air during Christmas in July or around the holidays for Countdown to Christmas.
“I have another movie called ‘Miniature Christmas’ that will be released on Hallmark this year,” he told the outlet. “I just got the thumbs up from the producers that it will be released, so I am pretty excited about that too.”
“A Miniature Christmas” has also gone by the name “O Little Christmas Market,” per its IMDb profile, and co-stars longtime Hallmark actress Kat Barrell.
Produced by Vortex Productions, the logline says, “When a small-town miniature artist and a jaded architect meet by chance during a train delay, their unexpected spark leads to a reunion—this time on opposite sides of a development deal that threatens her town’s beloved Christmas market. Forced to team up, they confront their pasts, risk their dreams, and discover that fate is more than just coincidence— it’s a lesson in love and legacy.”
Huszar said he’s also set to start filming a project he and Cassidy developed together, noting that his intention with every movie he makes is to foster connection and hope.
“I believe we live in a place where we should really support each other,” Huszar told Authority. “Humans are meant to be in a community. We are not here to compete against each other; we are here to lift each other up.”
