When Tamera Mowry-Housley arrived on set to start filming her 2025 Hallmark Channel Christmas movie, “Tidings for the Season,” she was a bit taken aback by her co-star, B.J. Britt.
“People say I’m over the top sometimes,” Mowry-Housley told EntertainmentNow. “But this man? I have never met anyone with this much gratitude and joy on the set every single day.”
Britt, who also co-stars with fan-favorites Tyler Hynes and Jonathan Bennett in Hallmark’s “The Groomsmen” franchise, was so excited and energetic that first day of filming that Mowry-Housley thought it might be an act.
Tamera Mowry-Housley Lost Her Own Bet Against B.J. Britt
Skeptical that Britt would be as happy and energetic throughout their shoot as he was when they met, Mowry-Housley told EntertainmentNow, “I literally made a (secret) bet with him. He didn’t know. I was like, ‘Let’s see how long this is gonna last. Is this real? Let me see — let’s be together for three weeks.'”
Mowry-Housley, who’s starred in close to a dozen Hallmark movies and hosts the network’s unscripted competition “Baked With Love: Holiday” on Monday nights, figured Britt’s happy-go-lucky charm would eventually wear off amid the grueling schedule of filming a rom-com in just three weeks.
“Shooting these films (is) challenging,” she said. “You shoot an entire movie in 15 days. So I was like, ‘Let me see how this goes.'”
But to Mowry-Housley’s surprise, she told EntertainmentNow, “He was the same B.J. every single day!”
Tamera Mowry-Housley Says B.J. Britt Never Ran Out of Compliments for Her & Others On Set
HallmarkIn “Tidings for the Season,” Britt plays TV news anchor Adam Kade, who meets 10-year-old superfan Robbie, played by Elijah-Justus Lewis, the son of Mowry-Housley’s character. When Robbie asks his favorite reporter to start covering good news instead of just negative stories, it changes his approach and his life.
Throughout their three week shoot, Mowry-Housley said she realized Britt wasn’t just high-energy, but also approached his work and everyone around him with determination, kindness, and that irresistable grin.
“I love that he’s a hard worker,” Mowry-Housley reflected. “He really wants to do great. And he loves to give compliments, too.”
“We were shooting a scene — the first scene where we really got a little flirty with each other — and he had to stop,” she laughed. “He was like, ‘Oh, wait, wait, wait, I lost where we were. This just felt too real, Tamera. You’re an amazing actor!'”
In addition to always having a kind word for others, Mowry-Housley said Britt “was just so grateful” to be there and for everyone in his midst, and quipped that he looked good doing it.
She giggled, “I was like, ‘Dang! He really is just this sweet (guy) and he’s just so gorgeous on-camera. This is not fair!’ We’d just watch him (on the monitor) and be like, ‘Wow, wow, wow — you look great, dude.'”
Hallmark Channel’s “Tidings for the Season” premieres on November 16, 2025, at 8 p.m. Eastern time and will be available to stream via Hallmark+ the following day.

Ok well it seems like from what I read it just may be sime chemistry between these two..
I laughed throughout this article because I worked with BJ for three days at an event last year and he was exactly as she described. HIGH ENERGY and one of the happiest people I have ever met! He was also easy to work with because he was joking from early on in the first hour we worked an event he was appearing at. I will be seeing him again in a few weeks and more than likely working with him again.
