Season 4 of Hallmark’s hit time-traveling show “The Way Home” has officially began, and one newcomer is getting ready to shake up the show. In the premiere episode of Season 4 last night, airing today on Hallmark+, viewers saw all the original cast returning, as well as a few new faces.
Among them is Bianca Melchior, who will be playing a young Fern Landry in the 1920s in the series. In the first episode of the new season, viewers only caught glimpses of Melchior’s character, like her on tape alongside Kat (Chyler Leigh) and her greeting Kat in the pond at the end.
Season 4 of the series will continue to explore their connection, as well as unlocking a whole new era for the show.
Bianca Melchior Shares Her Reaction to Being Cast in ‘The Way Home’
In celebration of the season 4 premiere, Melchior took to Instagram to share her new show with her followers, and share the moment she was told she got the role.
In the first picture, Melchior shared a still of her and Leigh’s character meeting for the first time. In the second slide, Melchior is seen rocking a classic ’20s updo in her taped audition. In the third slide, her agent, Scott Guglielmi, broke the news that she was officially joining the show.
“If it didn’t go your way, it was for some cosmic reason,” Guglielmi said on the phone. “But all of that being said, it did go your way!”
On the other end, Melchior screamed with excitment. “Oh God, don’t do that to me!” she screamed.

“TONIGHT!! @thewayhomehallmarkchannel 🌿🌊🏡 the time has come kitties… words could not possibly impart the ways in which this family has moved, held, lifted, loved and healed me,” Melchior wrote in the caption of the post.
“Our remarkable cast and crew have poured an unfathomable amount of heart into this magical story, and we are beyond thrilled for you to dive in with us,” she continued. “Big love to all you sweet ponderers out there who have already welcomed me home… pond. tonight. don’t be late ;).”
In the comment section, her “The Way Home” co-stars are pouring in love and support.
“Oh my god this is so precious 🥹,” wrote Jordan Doww, who plays the younger version of Colton on the show. “I am so excited for the world to meet young fern landry!”
“A STAR IS BORN ⭐️,” wrote Sadie Laflamme-Snow, who plays Alice in the series.
“HERE WE GOOOOO 🌱,” wrote Devin Cecchetto, who plays the younger version of Evelyn Goodwin.
